Surprise GIF loop! Last night, I retweeted a clip from that old "Layla's Magic Mouth" animation I made a long time ago, and it got me thinking "It's been awhile since the last time I made a loop!". I remember it being pretty time-consuming (obviously), but I wanted to have a good measure of exactly how long it takes to make a loop; so I set a timer on my phone, opened up Adobe Animate, and started drawing to see how polished of a loop I could make with just 4 hours. I know there's been a lot of butt-lust on the Patreon lately, so Mona's puckered donut seemed to be the most fitting subject
Although it was neat to mess around with animation again, unfortunately, it reminded me of one very important fact.... Adobe Animate sucks dick now. If I had a nickel for every random graphical glitch, brush-tool bug, transform-tool trouble, or for-no-reason fuckup this godforsaken program throws at me, I'd have a secondary Patreon. Seriously, sometimes the tools in Adobe Animate just DON'T WORK - for literally no reason. You can draw a circle, and then the program will decide to just.... delete the circle. You didn't press delete! It just happened because of ancient forbidden spaghetti code that will never see the light of day.
I think after Adobe Flash became unsupported, Adobe started to give less of a damn about Animate, which really sucks because this was MY program growing up. I used to know this problem like the back of my hand, and while I still kinda do, it's like the program has dementia now. The stark reality is that I need to find a new animation program to use. I remember briefly messing with animation in Krita back when I made that Veronica Boob Swing test years ago, so it's an option - but I mainly want to start looking at Clip Studio Paint or ToonBoom(?), since these are apparently the "industry standard" animation programs currently in use. BLAH - really not looking forward to starting from scratch with a new program, but I'm gonna have an aneurism if I keep using Adobe Animate in its current state.
