Not mountain climbing, actually. Technically.
Just wishful thinking on my part. Fishing for that euphemism...
The final image ended up being a lot more "tame" than I realized - also a lot more difficult to work on. I should have remembered the painting I did of her last summer, and how rough a process that was! I don't remember if I started over on that one, but here - I threw away about 4 hours of work because I realized the colors were looking really bad. This version is a lot better, but I'm not happy with the brushwork/rendering/lighting on her. Looks a bit off, lacking.
I also realized that I set up a huge challenge for myself by placing her (and her friend) on the shadow side of the rock face. Not only is lighting a figure in shadow challenging, but I felt really restricted on the rendering effects and "little touches" that I deploy in my pinup work.
Well, there's always next time.
