It was a very narrow win for England vs Norway over Spain vs Saudi Arabia but here we are!
I figured since I'm getting paid for this one I'd go the extra mile and spice it up a bit with a comic page to go with it. For those who might not have kept up with world cup memes:
Erling Haaland and Jude Bellingham, playing for the Norwegian and English teams respectively, played together for Borussia Dortmund a couple years ago and remain friends outside of the stadium. Them facing off in the world cup playing for their respective nations has this "lovers to reluctant enemies" vibe that a lot of people have played up as a doomed yaoi couple, so I figured I'd try to evoke the look of yaoi manga, with elongated speech bubbles, black and white halftones, and a liberal approach to both anatomy and homosexual relationship dynamics. Remember to read right to left!
As for why the hell Hatsune Miku is here, Brazil and Japan faced off after the group phase and people were joking (because Miku is a Japanese character that people frequently make fanart of dressed as other nationalities, especially Brazilian) that whoever wins the match gets custody over Miku. Brazil won, then Norway played against Brazil and won so they got to keep Miku. Naturally the Norway vs England match would continue this.
And of course I made a normal one (well, 'normal' is a relative term), with England acting as a surprise dominant top for once. Spoilers: it wouldn't last. The second speech bubble says "fuck you" in Norwegian.
