Pthalo - Quiz results after the first day, game plan for start of next month
infoAbout This Title
Responses are starting to slow down at the current point, so gonna give a little wrap up for now on the results, as well as the current plan going into next month ! (bottom of post)
This was super super fascinating and fun to watch get answered in realtime, I've gotta do more things like this; maybe I'll get more detailed for patreon-decided animations next time.
Answers are based on the current sample size of 121.
Q1. In general, would you prefer shorter projects more frequently, or longer projects with more of a pause?
Results: Overwhelmingly a mix of both long and short, with a slight lean towards longer projects. I'm taking this as 'usually have something longer being worked on in the background, but try to put out smaller thingies in the meantime', kind of similar to how I've had the Radar thing in the background for the past while.
Q2. What forms of media do you want me to be uploading?
Results: Mostly no preference, but a fairly even split between 'All forms still and animated', '3D and pixel but only animated' and '3D only'. The all forms and no preference make up about 64 percent of total answer though, so that would be the majority. I'm taking this as 'Focus on 3D, but if you find yourself wanting to do a little pixel thing here and there, or have game animations to show, post those as well'
Q3. What Vore Types are you most interested in?
Results: Oral and Anal (digest) just about tied for first at a little over 80 out of 120ish possible checkboxes, with CV (digest) just below at 73, and both versions of Unbirth at about 60. Aside from Unbirth specifically, endo is fairly lower than all digest counterparts. Breast Vore is the lowest of all the listed types at 44 for digest, though I'd still like to do something with that at some point.
Notably several of the custom responses as well as animation prompts later ask for disposal (which I'm not actually as opposed to as you'd think), but would most likely be a Patreon TOS issue, so I'm going to pass there. Same thing for feral characters.
Q4. Preferred Pred Type?
Results: Overwhelmingly no preference/any (because I made those two separate things for some reason), second largest chunk being female, and gynomorph and male tied for third. Basically no changes to the usual there.
Q5. Preferred Prey Type?
Results: Overwhelmingly no preference/any; like 80%. Otherwise split between male and female, so literally anything goes there.
Q6.Are there any non-vore themes (preferably somewhat adjacent if not listed) you'd like to see?
Results: I slightly goofed this one a little bit, because I forgot to add until later that the 'Stick to Vore' option was specifically only for if you don't want anything else to show up. Discounting ones that have that as well as other things, there's only about 25 responses that don't want anything else (about a fifth), so other stuff is pretty on the table as well (though vore is obviously my main focus). The highest checked answers were general nsfw stuff in first with 54 votes (about half), followed by liquid inflation and object insertion/pushing out at about 40 each. Pretty much everything else hovers at between 25 and 30, so everything's mildly on the table in moderation. A couple of custom answers in there that I'm also open to as well; notably facesitting, and some egg stuff (which I kind of considered part of the object thing)
Q7. Are there any future models you'd like to see?
Results: SUPER SUPER SUPER varied across the board, with a couple of consistent themes; Pokemon in general are the most consistent, with most of them being in the usual furry territory, such as Scolipede, Weavile, Salazzle, Lucario, Primarina, etc. Scolipede shows up the most, followed by Goodra, specifically more canon-like than Polimer is (which I am by no means opposed to). A lot of these are already on my list of 'want to make' ideas, so no issues there. Otherwise some push for Palworld models (fine but kind of meh on, there's already a bunch of good models for those imo), and a scaly or two since I haven't made one outside of commissions (notably Monster Hunter species show up repeatedly).
Q8. Are there any specific animations you'd like to see, or characters you'd like to see me use?
Results: Somehow even more varied than the last question; this is all over the place, but I do have a massive amount of things to add to the idea list. As for characters, Yrsa shows up the most by quite a bit (which is not surprising, because I haven't really done a lot with her), as well as Ankha/Isabelle, and a very slightly repeating ask for Alphys for some reason? (which is only weird because I haven't used an Alphys model before, but hey, not complaining there, I see the vision)
Q9. How do you pronounce 'Pthalo'
Results: oh my godThis is genuinely the funniest thing I've seen in a while just because of how insanely varied it is. There were 5 stock answers, one of them a joke. There are now 31 different ones.
There are technically two 'correct' ways of pronouncing it, the second of the two I only found out after writing this because it appears a couple of times in the custom answers; the color the name is a misspelling of (phthalo green/blue) is pronounced 'Thah-loh', but how I pronounce the name Pthalo is 'Thay-loh'. I hadn't heard the color pronounced up until now, only read it, so that's how I've mentally pronounced it from the start.
you can stop calling me pee now thanksQ10. Am I more Bouba or Kiki?
Results: 69% Bouba. Nice.
Q11. Do you want me to include stupid shitpost animations on the patreon?
Results: Overwhelmingly yes. (the five of you who said no must be really fun at parties)
The game plan for August:
OK! so; Primary objective off start is to get stabilized with the animation commission pile, so I'm going to be hardfocusing that to start. Most of these are smaller though; so the objective is to hopefully clear through the majority of these in the first half of the month, and then switch to half/half whatever's left of those and personal projects in the second half. Unsure if this is going to be a larger animation project, smaller one, or a model as of right now; I do have some outlying model edits I need to do for commissions as well (which aren't really postable as content), but I will be working on postable things such as small animations alongside those. Vscroller's gonna start getting picked back up probably somewhere around the end of week two, once the bulk of anim commissions are good to go. Once I'm in a steadier rhythm, I'm aiming to have a 50/50 workload split of commissions and personal projects, so ideally 2 days comm, 2 personal, a switch day, and two break days to make sure I'm not sitting at the PC the entire time. (probably a good idea to pick up a gym membership and do some hikes to make sure I'm exercising too.) Also, There's going to be a couple of days of downtime at somepoint this coming week, as I'm going to be repainting my office/room/thing, and don't want to be hotboxing paint fumes. (time to play through the entirety of deltarune on switch while that dries)
For those of you who are looking for comms, I'm most likely going to start taking new ones late August, or a little into September (with the exception of pixel stills, which I might take a few earlier because I can do those while things are rendering). It's probably going to be a similar situation to how I did the last model comm opening, so a google form with all the details, and then I'll pick a set I'd like to do.
