Dusk Audio - Sunset Circuits is out!
infoAbout This Title
Back in January I started building a vintage inspired synth. The DSP was good, but the UI sucked, so I sat on it all these months. A few weeks ago, the wife and I finally got around to finishing Stranger Things (yep, we don't get too much time for TV at my house) and when I heard all of the music from the final season, it hit me: I gotta finish this plugin.
So I picked it back up and finished it. Well, mostly finished. It's still a little rough around the edges, but getting there. As I continue to work with the DPF framework instead of JUCE, I am learning to get more creative with UI design.
This synth is meant to pay homage to all of those 70's and 80's pads, huge arps, FM bells, acid lines, all of it. I always joke with my friends that I want to create a synthwave stoner metal band, maybe this will get me motivated.
Each mode switches the whole personality:
Cosmos: six voice DCO poly with a bucket brigade chorus. This is the Stranger Things pad machine.
Oracle: five voice analog poly with a self oscillating filter and poly-mod
Mono: aggressive two oscillator mono with ring mod and hard sync. Not based on anything, I made this one for fun
Modular: semi modular with sample and hold and a spring reverb
Prism: four operator FM with eight algorithms
Acid: diode ladder bass box with a 16 step sequencer
Presets:
VST3, CLAP, LV2, and AU on Linux, Windows, and macOS. Try it out, let me know whats good and whats bad and please file any issues on Github you find and I will tackle them ASAP.
