SeaChomps - Schedule update and news

infoAbout This Title

There's a looong block of text incoming about some non-related stuff (kinda?) that some of you might not be fully interested in. Skip it to the end for some news that you may want to know. This update is not about me doing a pause, everything is fine. I'm just going more in depht about my current work schedule.-----------------This week in particular I'm going to be too busy to sketch something extra apart from everything that is related to the monthly YCH stickers. I know that's kinda boring for the members that aren't in the sticker tier, so I wanted to explain a little better what's behind the scenes all the time (with old spiderman memes. the best ones)"Three lifes, two identities, one person"

Right now, apart from my fatfur content of course, I'm working on the two jobs I've been procrastinating for a year; one cause despite it's my dream job I understand that it's not financially stable, and the other one because I'm burnt to the core. I've reached the point in which I have to finish both of them no matter what.About the first one, I guess a lot of you are aware that I have a personal comic; Crack the Code (I've been sharing some stuff in the "non-related art" channel in my discord). Funfact; I started this project the same month and year I created my SeaChomps account, make your own theories hahahagsda.

Funfact 2; the main character is clearly not into this kink u_u

The thing is I've taken the decision that from now on I'll go to anime cons only with original content. Ya know, that's basically like saying you want to commit comercial suic***.... But, whatever, I've been doing anime cons for 10 years now and it was about time to give it a try. That means that I need to give some presence to this project, like building a brand. I'm not a popular artist so I can't count just on the comic itself to attract new audience. My next anime convention is in September, so it's pretty important that I finish the third chapter of this comic, the main highlight in my booth. Next month I need to send the files to be printed so they get in time for September. But I'm not only working on finishing a full 28 page long chapter, I'm doing some sticker/kechains/print collections too, that need to be finished by mid-August.

Now, the other job is my position as a colorist for Dupuis (the publisher of Marsupilami, Spirou, etc). This job has been slowly murdering me for the past 5 years.

The main issue being that the comics are way too demanding for what they pay. I can't show you too much because of NDA and all that, but most of the pages have 8-10 panels with three or more characters and a full backround in each panel. And I'm doing them for only 100€ each from which 30€ go away in taxes :) ...................

You can search for "La Sentinelle du Petit Peuple vol 4 and 5 if you want some published examples of my work as a colorist. The artist is Charline Forns, she's an angel.I must finish the current volumen I'm working on by the end of September. However, this series is not looking too good after all the news I've been getting from my team. I have a feeling that this might be my last volume because of some publisher's shenanigans and cause I was actually going to ask for a raise. Like, a raise that I hardly doubt they are going to aprove cause I'm a nobody and they already think that my pay is higher than the avarage........ like, 4-5€/hour is CLEARLY a fair pay to survive these days, you know? So, yeah, after this volume, there're two possible scenarios:- They approve my offer and I get a raise. (Again, I think this is a 1% chance)- I get laid-off and I'll need to find a way to cover the income I was earning from this job (less than 5400€ a year)--------------------Okay, this is the stuff you all might be interested in.

It's always scary to think about losing a job even if you're burnt to death.... Despite this community has basically SAVED ME from very hard life circumstances, I still can't fully rely on this patreon, I need to do like 800$ more. But if I lose that job that also means that I'll be able to focus more on this community and improve my services c: So, if this scenario happens, firstly I'm pretty sure my content will be more regular and organized, I know there's a ton of stuff that could be improved. I also have more plans:- I'll open 10-15 more sticker YCH member slots.- I want to open an online store with my t-shirts and all the stuff I did for my last furry convention. I'm thinking about timing it with a pre-order for my first SeaChomps art compilation.- Open commissions again in OctoberAnd that's all for now. Thank you for reading! You'll be the first to know if I get laid-off in September. Hasta la vista
