infoAbout This Title

Hello folks and welcome to another progress report!Jack's chapter in the Mass Effect comic is coming along, with core posing underway. Pacing seems to be working out in terms of my script writing, so I'm happy to see it all coming together slowly after all the trials and tribulations that writing it was. While I won't share much about it given spoilers, know that it is in a stage now where production will speed up significantly. And speaking of:The wiggle bone extension for Blender I've been testing out over Thursdays is extremely promising, and looks like the immense time saver I've been trying to find for project work purposes. Considering Lulu's project is slated to be roughly double as long as the Ivy one, and that Ivy's project took almost 2 years to resolve, it's been imperative that I've found tools to incorporate into my workflow that reduces animation time. With Thursdays being the one day every week that I work on this stuff, I get an average 3 days per month (with the 4th Thursday every month more often than not being eaten up by the Scenario these days) to put towards project work, which means I want that time to be as efficient as possible. While I know some creators rely on physics cages to get their jiggles on, it seemed less than ideal for the breast sizes I work with and I had to put it by the wayside after spending quite some time wrestling with it, so I've thus opted for this bone-focused armature solution instead. The goal now is to begin experimenting with it in actual animation proper, and while the Tifa Scenario will be hand-animated as always, I hope to begin using it in Scenarios in the near future so as to get a better grasp on its functions through use and experience. As soon as I'm more comfortable with the tool and believe it to be the time-saver that it looks to be, I will then pivot back to work on the Lulu project once more every Thursday.Wednesday animation of Lae'zel is still in the works. This Wednesday I got half my day eaten up by my father having bought a new couch and a new table set for his kitchen, before proceeding to call and complain about the physical endeavor of, you know, replacing his old stuff with the new stuff. Consequently me and my brother had to head over to make sure he didn't injure himself in the process, so I was pretty tired by the time I could return to my computer.Folks, if you get kids and grow old, just ask them for help. Don't do the dance of pride where they have to effectively force themselves into your house to help you out. It is exhausting.

The most recent poll pertaining to background characters has also concluded. The feedback I got over their inclusion has been quite scattered, but mostly of negative character all in all where people expressed a lot of frustration at them, so I was curious as to what the community thought on the matter. As you all can see a clear majority, consequently, has voted for the option noting that they only want to see background characters if these are given their own, personal angles, though there is a solid third of backers who seem to enjoy their inclusion as well all in all. As you might imagine, with an average of 1 minute of runtime where I have to consistently go over schedule to get Scenarios sorted, and with the background character being an inclusion on my own initiative, there's effectively no space for the background character to take up time or camera angles that should by all rights be reserved for the actual poll winner. Consequently, while I personally think background characters can lend a lot of flavor to a setting, I don't want to frustrate backers either, so I'll be heavily scaling back my featuring of these characters, focusing my energy and Scenario structure on the poll winner character instead. This doesn't mean they'll go away entirely, forever, but I'll really only include them if I think that they are pivotal to some Scenario's setting and where I believe they won't cause frustration, and will cease to rely on them just to create a tantalizing backdrop in others.Upcoming dates of note:Less Popular Ladies character nominations period opening on the 22nd (tomorrow)September Scenario animation character nomination period opening on the 27thI believe that's it for this week! Quite a bit longer this time around, but I also did have more to report so excuse me for the lack of brevity. Thank you everyone, so much, for your support and kind words - it's time for me to recuperate as well as can be before settling in for a couple of days of Scenario crunch starting tomorrow. I don't know exactly when the release will be, but I expect it to spill over heavily into next week, eating up most of the days there.Take care of yourselves folks, as well as each other!/DH
