It would draw too much suspicion.Luring a FelScar, one of the SharpClaw still bearing the corrupting scars of an Aparoid wound, however... If the others believed he'd corrupted the entire stock, they'd turn on him. The other FelScars would surely come to his defence... giving me the perfect distraction to recover my staff.I'm not happy about resorting to such a manipulative and unjust plan, but now that I know General Scales is leading them, I can't afford to let sympathy cloud my judgement. They certainly wouldn't grant me the same courtesy.
Tizi leads me through the village, the two of us moving like shadows beneath the moonless sky.Eventually, she stops and points ahead. There's a lone FelScar... vigorously... "doing" himself while watching another "busy" couple.I try to go over the plan once more."So, if we lead him into the berry store, that'll be enough for the others to think the stock is corrupted, right?""Yeah. Nobody wants their food tainted by what they have." "...Right... But once he's inside the store, then what?""Once he's inside, we make a big racket and sneak out real quick. Before he knows what's happening, everyone'll see him standing there with the berries.""And I suppose nobody would believe him if he claimed some blue fox had lured him in there." "Hah! Not at all!""Remind me how you plan to lure him again?" I ask, unable to hide my uncertainty."Well... as you can see, he's... hungry.""I... certainly can see that..." I grimace in disgust."So all we gotta do is jiggle these babies in front of him, and we'll have ALL his attention!" She bounces excitedly on the spot, jiggling her breasts and wagging her rear playfully."His undivided attention. Wonderful. But would he actually follow us into the berry store? Surely he knows he's forbidden from going anywhere near it.""Oh, trust me, he won't be thinking about that at all. He'll be too busy thinking about what he's gonna do to us."My body takes a step back almost on its own."Erm... You said that if he caught us...""I mean... I guess only one of us has to lure him. One can be the bait while the other waits inside the store, ready to make some noise once he comes in. I could be the bait, if that makes you feel better!""...Really? Are you sure?""Yeah! Although... ah, guess this is a bad time to mention it, but... I don't know how to fight! Especially not one of these guys! 'Cause, y'know, if he's got those scars, that means he fought those giant bugs. So... yeah, he's probably REALLY strong. Don't think I'd stand much of a chance, hahaha...""Could you at least outrun him?""If I get a head start... mayyybeeee?"That's not reassuring in the slightest. She looks at me with a gentle smile."If you're that worried about me... what about you, then? You look pretty quick. Bet you could stay ahead of him.""Ah. I certainly hope so. Although the last time I tried to fight a male SharpClaw bare-handed, I very nearly died." "Oh, don't worry! This one wouldn't kill you!""...I gathered as much.""I don't think he would, anyway. I... Uh... I think?..."Her confidence suddenly falters when she sees my face. Judging by her reaction, I must look utterly terrified. She asks, "Are you sure that staff is worth it?"I nod with determination. "It holds many powers. With it, everything would change."Tizi's eyes glow with hope."Then let's do it! One of us waits inside the berry store while the other plays bait."She turns to me expectantly."So... who's gonna be the bait?"
A. Be the bait myself, as I'm more agile.B. Let Tizi be the bait despite her lack of fighting skills.
