Saxonado Studios - DEVLOG – September 2, 2026
infoAbout This Title
Hello everyone! Karman here.
Welcome to a new Devlog! This time, I’m here to show you the progress we’ve made on the Sprites System, which is now finally complete! From this point on, all that’s left is to refine it and fix any remaining bugs.
On the artistic side, Sprites (or “busts,” as we call them) are now modular, allowing us to reuse individual parts and speed up production times by a HUGE margin.
On the programming side, Saxxy developed an automatic alignment system that comes with simple animations (stretching, bouncing, shaking, etc.) and takes each character’s height into account when displaying them on screen!
The past few weeks have been filled with challenges — from completely redesigning Ammie from scratch and updating her to meet current quality standards, to figuring out how to implement all the new variations that each character will have in this new stage of development. But despite all the difficulties and unexpected setbacks, we’re really happy with the final result!
This expression system isn’t actually something new. Many of you may remember that, since version 0.1, Ammie already had her own set of interchangeable poses while wearing her casual outfit, with different poses depending on her emotions. Back then, however, we simply didn’t have the skills, experience, or infrastructure needed to properly bring that ambition to life.
At this point, we can say that we’ve made enough progress, both artistically and in terms of programming, to finally bring the original vision we had for the game! We understand that the H-scenes are the most important part for many of you. However, we can’t simply neglect the game as a whole just to meet expectations with the bare minimum of effort.
From now on, our goal will be to raise the overall presentation quality of the game as much as we can with the resources we currently have. Ammie currently has 9 different expressions to make the dialogue more engaging (and there are still more to come!) Next in line are Leon, our MC and Liv. If everything goes according to plan, NovaCat (we’ve already seen that she’s a favorite among many of you ) will make her debut with a fully animated Sprite!
There are many technical details that would take far too long to explain, so we may make a dedicated Devlog about them for those who are interested in reading about the technical side of things. In the meantime, here’s the Preview video along with a couple of comparison images, so you can see just how much everything has changed!
Stay tuned for the next Devlog, where we’ll bring you news about the long-awaited H-scenes and their potential improvements!
With that said, I’ll see you next time. Have an excellent week!
