Even though the life pod has a built-in gravity module, steam is better than a regular shower in case the gravity module fails. Steam softens the dirt on the skin, opens the pores, and then you wipe it all off with a washcloth or a towel.
PS. It would be a bit hard to draw characters at this angle, but MAN I love my very low, tiny-POV angles so much
