Naralagi - v0.3 Progress Report 3
infoAbout This Title
This week I've tried to tweak the shadows a bit, as I haven't been entirely happy with them for a while. I'm still not completely satisfied, since creating a good 3D shadow system in a completely 2D game is something that's beyond me at the moment. Nevertheless, I've made several simple changes: I've made the shadows fade away as night falls completely and prevent them from overlapping, ensuring they maintain a consistent opacity.
I've added the torches to the temple, but it still needs more decorations, as it feels a bit empty. I've also added water tiles to create lakes and rivers, allowing me to restrict access without needing trees. There's also a moving, shimmering reflection in the water to prevent it from looking static, I'm debating whether to pixelate it as I think it looks good as it is now.
Next week I'll revisit the shadows to see if I can improve them, and I'll try to completely finish the assets for the new area.
