The holiday was over and it was back to work and school for Emma. She liked her job and classes. They both required her to make good, mature choices.
Her classes asked her to choose what to read first, when to read it, and how to take notes. Or she could choose to skip the work altogether. She had to choose between her textbooks and social media, between getting enough rest and staying up late—she had to decide whether classes were a priority.
Her job presented her each day with a list of tasks that needed to be done. Often, her supervisor let her decide what to do and in what order. Emma liked the autonomy of that, knowing that ultimately she had to make the choices that benefited the office most.
It was Tuesday morning, and Emma’s day of choices awaited—starting with her outfit.
