About This Title
Elliot submits twenty auditions and receives twenty silences. Late one night, he records the same scene as Ellie, wearing a borrowed auburn wig, an emerald dress, and the voice he practices when no one is home. Three directors call before lunch. The final callback is in person, and the wardrobe assistant waiting outside holds Ellie's exact size without asking for measurements. Elliot changes reluctantly, convinced the room wants a joke. In the mirror, Ellie grips the vanity with one hand and sets the other at her hip, finding the anger the scene has always required.
