I wanted to take a little time to talk about Frank.
Frank has been Brandy's husband and a recurring character in my comics for quite some time now. But if you've been following my work for a while, you may have noticed something...
Frank has looked... different. A lot.
I've never really been consistent with his design, perhaps because he's always felt like a background character to me. Brandy and Frank were actually inspired from Frank Cho's Liberty Meadows. Frank was a visual inspiration of that Frank character. But in the last Brandy comic (Kiss of the Stinger) I tried to move away from that but I hated it. So for this project, I want Frank to be on his right character model because starting with Brandy and Friends #1, he will be a more active character.
So I went back to my original feel of Frank. Closer to the original concept with the stature, the glasses, the overall shape and personality of the design... THIS feels like Frank.
So if you've notice that Frank looks a little different in the upcoming pages of the new book, that's why. After all these years, I think I've finally figured out the right look for Frank.
And honestly...
It's about Franking time.
