So without further wait, here's a tiny excerpt from Audrey & Birdie's upcoming romance (we love their banter so much ).
EXCERPT
“How many ridiculous hills have you stood and died on?”
“Zero. They’ve all been absolutely pertinent, though their pertinence is likely to escape you.”
“Absolutely pertinent,” I repeat with the shake of my head—but me saying it isn’t the same. I can’t capture the exact rhythmic cadence of her voice. It’s unique. A smooth, measured pattern with weight on certain words. Passionate inflection here and there.
Her face begins to flame. “Now you’re going to make fun of the way I speak.”
I choke out a noise because I wasn’t. If anything, I was about to compliment her lack of vocal fry—but fuck that.
