Arcanyx Studios - Valerica Has Gone Batty!!! Woot!
About This Title
MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
Todd Howard didn’t have the vision. The modding community lacked the resolve. But after fifteen agonizing years of technological dark ages, the pinnacle of Tamrielic evolution has arrived: Valerica Bat Mode. Trade marking that because if I didn't, Boris might go this was my idea first. Wrong!
CROUCH. POOF. BAT.
The second your knees bend into Sneak Mode, Valerica remembers that tip-toeing across dirt like an unwashed Nord peasant is entirely beneath an ancient, pureblood Daughter of Coldharbour.
So she simply ceases to be a biped.
Crouch? POOF. You are now accompanied by four ounces of airborne gothic spite.
Stand back up? POOF. Valerica. Disappointed in you, but taller.
Crouch again? POOF. Back to rabies-with-wings.
Hostile red dot on the compass? BAT PRIVILEGES TERMINATED. The rat with wings is gone, and the ancient vampire matriarch has returned to commit aggravated assault with a drain spell.
POWERED BY HIGH-OCTANE BAT TECHNOLOGY
Beneath the velvet hood of this masterpiece lies an insanely lightweight polling system that lazily peeks out every two seconds to see if your ass is touching grass. That’s it. No Papyrus engine melt-downs, no 60fps script apocalypses, and 100% ESPFE.
Just pristine, elegant vampire logic:
Sneaking? →
Standing? →
A bandit sneezes within aggro radius? →
I even respected the sacred timeline by remaining dormant until Beyond Death is finished. Because as it turns out, turning an integral quest NPC into tactical sky-rodent right in the middle of Dawnguard's emotional family reunion was deemed technically irresponsible by me.
You’re welcome, Skyrim. Peak gaming is on the way after I add some dialogue!
I am thinking of going this style for her vampire bat telepathy :)
