Ignacio - New details about 3.6 update of the DB Editor
About This Title
Hey all, this is going to be a short one
I've been kind of grinding this week (especially this weekend) to get this update out in September, and I'm pretty confident I can get everything done within the last few days of the month. There are only a few small features left to add.
In the meantime, while I finish things up, I wanted to show you some new features coming to the editor in the 3.6 update. You can see them in the screenshot below.
In the little "more options" dropdown, you can see three options (the UI design isn't final, and there will probably be a few more options in there):
Freeze car development, so the AI won't upgrade their cars.
Equal cars, which lets you set the whole grid to a fixed performance value.
Equal engines, with both an equal power option and an option to equalize the rest of the engine stats.
Power can go all the way up to 150%.
These features have been requested for a long time, so I'm happy to say they've now been implemented, tested, and (so far) haven't caused any issues. I don't think there will be more updates to nightly before the update.
Apart from that, I'm hoping to redesign two entire sections of the UI. Whether those changes actually make it into 3.6 will depend on how happy I am with the final result. The update will also include everything I've already shown in previous sneak peek posts, plus somewhere between one and three new Turning Points.
At the same time, I'm still working on version 1.1 of GCR, but I'm feeling very confident that I'll be able to release DB Editor 3.6 this month.
I think I'll probably just shadowdrop it when it's ready, since I don't really want to make a whole Patreon post just to announce that the update is live, and not everyone here is on the Discord server.
Thanks everyone for all the support on the last post, and also for all the nice messages I've been getting on Discord whenever I've talked about the update.
Hope you all have a great week,
Ignacio
