About This Title

Hello everyone,

Last week was pretty good. I went back to back on animations for two scenes and started to feel the weight of it, but that's now behind me and this dev cycle is off to a great start on the animation front. I may have gone a little overboard with this scene, but I have a feeling a lot of you will enjoy it.

The week itself didn't start so hot, though. One of my render rigs kept crashing, and not the polite kind. The whole screen goes dark, I can't do anything, and I can't even get in through remote control. Everything pointed at the GPU, since I tried a bunch of fixes: MemTest, a driver health check, a Windows update, driver updates rollback, underclocking, and so on. Nothing worked, so I ended up opening the computer and re-plugging everything. Thankfully, that did the trick and there have been no crashes since. Well, Daz 6 crashed a lot, but that software is so unstable it's not surprising.

Once that was sorted, I got back to work. I'm now on the first scene common to all paths of the episode. It's a big one, about 300 lines of dialogue with some variations here and there, and I'm hoping to have it done by tomorrow. The next few scenes (11, if memory serves) will be mostly static renders, though I might add a cutscene somewhere in there. Not sure yet. I'm hoping to get that render count up over the next 2 to 3 devlogs.

Speaking of, let's talk numbers:

Static renders: 283Animations: 38Story content: 4 scenes written (3,337 words)

Not too shabby: just over 110 renders and 16 more animations since last week. Lots of yapping as well. Last episode was about 60k words, and I'm confident this one will land way over that. I'll put a prediction on the record: around 71k words. We'll see how close I got in a few months!

In other news, fall starts today and I'm so psyched. Time to lock in, fellas. I yearn to get back to 200 renders a week. The heat will soon be just a bad nightmare.

I'm going back to work, and in the meantime, I wish you all a great week.
