The U.S. is amping up aviation sanctions against Iran, with a new round that take effect today, September 23. The U.S. Treasury has warned that any global airport providing fuel, ground servicing, or ticketing to Iranian carriers will face immediate exclusion from the U.S. dollar system. These sanctions appear more severe than the ones against Russia. Russian airlines continue operating to airports in many countries.
So far it looks like flights are continuing despite the ban.
