LowFireStudios - A Wife Abroad | Refresh | VOTE for Style Change + ( Animations Inside) * Have your say *
About This Title
I know I touched on this during the big update post earlier this week, regarding the needed style change for A Wife Abroad. But I suppose I didn't really think about it from your guys' perspective.
I appreciate that, ultimately, the story is what most of you are here for, but the art and images are the complimentary- and frankly, very necessary cherry on top. And a huge amount of my work over the years has been directly influenced by you guys, whether that's through requests, feedback, ideas or simply seeing which stories and characters you connect with the most.
So it only seems fitting that you should have a voice in how this particular comic continues.
I've put together two distinctly different approaches for the refreshed style. The first is the one I previewed in the update post earlier this week. It stays fairly close to the original look while making some changes behind the scenes that should hopefully make Ellie much easier for me to work with.
The second is a newer style I've been experimenting with recently. It's a little more of a departure from the original, but I think it has a lot of potential and could give the comic a fresh look while still keeping Ellie recognisable.
So, I'd love to know what you guys think.
Which direction do you prefer for A Wife Abroad? And more importantly, which one feels like Ellie to you?
Your feedback will genuinely help me decide which direction to take the comic moving forward.
The following images and animations have been created purely as *style tests for comparison purposes*. Nothing shown here is intended to represent exactly how the story will play out, although a few of them may give you a little tease of what's to come.
Left side will be ART STYLE 1 and the right ART STYLE 2.
Let's start with Sarah. Ellie's cutthroat, corporate-office-executive best friend, and the person who first planted the idea of hotwifing in her head.
Sarah casually revealed that her husband allows her to fuck other men while she's away, with one very important condition: when she comes home, she tells him every excplicit detail. What started as a confession between friends quickly became something that Ellie couldn't stop thinking about, opening the door to a whole new side of their relationship, and ultimately setting Ellie on the path she's now on.
Next up is Jas.. the petite, quirky, free-spirited barmaid Ellie befriends while on vacation.
Jas is the kind of person who seems to have absolutely no filter, and after spending plenty of time getting to know the resort's resident hunks, she's more than happy to share every little detail with Ellie.
What starts as a fun friendship quickly becomes another influence on Ellie, with Jas's carefree attitude and rather adventurous approach to relationships giving Ellie plenty of new things to think about while she's away.
And, of course, Jas is far too happy to tell Ellie exactly what she's been getting up to, and what she's missing out on..
Last but certainly not least, Ellie. The busty, horny wife who somehow found herself in the middle of this beautiful little hot mess.
Despite everything that's happened and will happen, Ellie and Mark are true soulmates. Their relationship is built on an incredible amount of love and trust, and, perhaps more importantly, they both share the same fantasy of Ellie exploring the world of hotwifing while she's away.
But fantasies are one thing.. actually living them is another.
As Ellie finds herself surrounded by new people, new experiences and plenty of temptation, the real question is whether she and Mark can be completely honest with each other as they explore this side of their relationship together.
So, now we've had a look at the character designs and portraits, let's see how these babes animate, shall we?
SarahLet's start with Sarah. Since she's one of the newer additions to the story, I've kept her animation comparison fairly simple. Just one scene, shown in both art styles.
This should give you a good idea of how each style handles Sarah in motion, particularly when it comes to her proportions, movement and overall appearance.
Style 1 (left) vs Style 2 (right) - which one feels more like Sarah?
JasNext up is Jas! Again, I've put together one animation in both styles so you can compare how she looks and moves between the two.
Jas has a pretty distinctive look compared to the other girls, so I was particularly interested to see how well each style translates her character into animation.
Which Jas do you prefer?
EllieAnd finally, we have Ellie, and this is where things get a little more interesting.
I've put together three different animation comparisons for Ellie, giving you a few different examples of how both art styles handle her in motion.
Because Ellie is obviously the main character of A Wife Abroad, I think it's important to see more than just one example before deciding which direction feels right for her.
So take a look through all three comparisons and let me know which style you think suits Ellie best.
So.. Which Style? So, which style do you prefer for the future of A Wife Abroad? Or maybe you don't particularly like either of them! Let me know if so!
Vote below for either Style 1 (left) or Style 2 (right) and let me know which direction you'd like to see the comic take.
One important thing to keep in mind: the comic will ultimately be built around one consistent style. I won't be mixing and matching them. For example, having Ellie and Sarah in Style 1 while Jas is in Style 2. Whichever style wins out will be the foundation for all of the characters and the comic moving forward. I'd also like to state, this comic is very much Ellie focused. She is the star, and main attraction, and whilst you'll see snippets of the other girls (plus more!) I'd put your style vote in mainly based on her design.
And finally, I've also attached a ZIP file containing all of these animation tests, so you can enjoy them in all their glory and take a proper look at the comparisons.
Thanks for taking the time to have a look, and I'm genuinely looking forward to seeing what you guys think!
