In the Weekly OAG Changes we learn that Alaska is suspending two Lihue (LIH) routes.
• Lihue (LIH) - Oakland (OAK) [2,454 miles] • Lihue (LIH) - Portland (PDX) [2,630 miles]
LIH-OAK is suspended very close in for the Holiday period from mid-November to January. While this route has seemed to pop in and out lately, the close in cut smells like an aircraft availability issue. Alaska has had some delays in Wifi installation and reconfiguration work on 787s that could be related.
LIH-PDX is more surprising of a cut as Alaska has been trimming PDX lately for Winter, but this is a Summer suspension. The route is cancelled from early May onward.
