Chapter 478: Hoarah Loux

Godfrey slowly opened his eyes. Battle intent burned within them, fierce enough to swallow the whole world.

That pure, blazing will to fight swept through him like wildfire, burning away every trace of hesitation and doubt, raising his presence to the height worthy of the legendary “War Lord.”

“Serosh...” Godfrey softly called his old friend’s name, his voice carrying a rare complexity.

“I understand. At this point, do whatever you want. Only, from now on, there will be no more Godfrey.” The old lion gave a weary sigh.

Godfrey showed no deep sorrow at those words. Instead, he burst into laughter.

“Don’t look so grim, old man. Once I enter the Erdtree, I’ll just have Marika call you back.”

“I’m afraid it won’t be that easy.” The old lion shook his head, then showed a look of quiet acceptance.

It had been long enough. He had been the Beast King and had also served as Chancellor to the Elden Lord. How many in the Lands Between could have such a brilliant life? An old thing like him should be satisfied.

The conversation between old friends ended there. Godfrey seized Serosh’s head with one hand, and as he exerted his strength, Serosh’s body began to tear apart.

The War Lord and his Chancellor seemed almost fused together. When their bodies finally separated, blurred threads of blood still connected them.

Amid his roar and the old lion’s, Serosh finally broke away from Godfrey’s back. In that instant, all vitality seemed to drain from the lion’s body, and the light in its eyes faded.

Godfrey glanced at Serosh, looked at the old lion’s corpse, then casually set the body on the ground, showing no visible respect for his fallen friend.

After that, Godfrey raised his hands and gripped the heavy armor on his body.

With a ripping sound, he tore the hardened heavy armor apart by force.

As the armor broke, Godfrey’s muscles, strong as steel, were fully exposed.

“Finally, I don’t have to be that damned Godfrey anymore!” Godfrey let out a deeply satisfied laugh, his voice rolling across the battlefield like thunder. “Now, I am Hoarah Loux, a true Warrior!”

The bare-chested barbarian Warrior, Hoarah Loux, stood proudly amid the army.

Every muscle was filled with power, every vein bulging, as if endless strength surged through his body.

His very existence was pressure, pure and terrifying pressure, enough to make everyone present tremble.

When the Crucible Knights on the battlefield saw Hoarah Loux in this state, fanaticism appeared in their eyes.

This was the War Lord’s strongest form. This was the barbarian Warrior who had conquered them a thousand years ago.

“So we finally meet again.” Nolan looked at the barbarian Warrior roaring toward the sky. He truly had not expected the old man to enter his second phase the moment he saw him.

“Enough nonsense. Didn’t you come to kill me and take the throne? Then fight me. A dead man can’t become a Lord,” Hoarah Loux shouted.

If they did not have a proper fight, wouldn’t Serosh have died for nothing?

“Warrior Hoarah Loux, may I ask you one question before we begin?” Nolan asked.

Hoarah Loux frowned. Why was this man suddenly dragging things out? It would have been much better if he had charged straight in like he did at Mt. Gelmir.

“What do you want to ask?”

“Your son, Morgott. Why haven’t I seen him?” Nolan asked directly.

“Who knows about something that boring!” Hoarah Loux roared. “Come fight me already.”

Who said the War Lord was stupid? This War Lord was far too clever.

Nolan sighed inwardly. It seemed impossible to get information about Morgott from Hoarah Loux. In that case, they would simply fight.

The sound of military horns echoed through the air, as if telling of the passage of ages and the madness of war.

War banners flew. The sounds of slaughter never ceased. Ancient Dragons and Flying Dragons spat fire and thunder.

The beautiful Queen and the ugly giant insect danced through the battle, while white and purple light crisscrossed the sky.

Amid that chaotic battlefield, Hoarah Loux charged out. Whether people or objects stood in his way, all were sent flying, until a golden stream of light swallowed him.

Nolan stood a hundred meters away, quietly watching dust explode across the earth as he lowered the hand he had used to throw.

The next instant, Hoarah Loux burst out, both arms crossed over his head, bright arcs of electricity still leaping across his body.

What a wild way to fight. Hoarah Loux charged toward Nolan with a nearly mad ferocity.

Nolan swung the Promised Claymore, and fiery sword energy rose from the ground like a wall, cutting straight through a palace.

Hoarah Loux rolled quickly to the side like a ball.

His body skimmed the ground, feeling the scorching sword wind roar past him, as if it would burn his skin.

In that instant, he sprang up like a nimble leopard, tracing a graceful arc through the air.

Nolan was clad in scales, dragon wings spreading behind him. With a light flap, a gale tore through the sky, and he collided in midair with the leaping Hoarah Loux. The shockwave from the impact blasted the surrounding soldiers away.

“Warrior Hoarah Loux, you really have become stronger.” Nolan’s voice rang out through the dust, carrying a trace of surprise and admiration.

“The strong are meant to fight each other.” Hoarah Loux slammed fist after fist into the side of the Promised Claymore, his grin savage and excited. “So hurry up and kill me.”

Boom!

Their clash of strength caved in the ground beneath them. They stood at the very center of the battlefield where the two armies were fighting, and the tremendous force instantly raised a vast cloud of dust, knocking the surrounding soldiers off balance.

Nolan stood in the great pit and raised his head, looking straight into Hoarah Loux’s eyes.

The battle intent burning there had not weakened in the slightest from the collision. Instead, as the fight went on, it became purer and hotter.

Hoarah Loux’s fist struck the Promised Claymore again. If this had not been a god-slaying weapon, it would already have been ruined.

So Godrick really should not have bothered learning axe techniques. Godfrey’s battle axe skill had never been that impressive. He had simply swung it with brute force. Godrick would have been better off training his body under this old man.

Those muscles were far more useful than that lousy axe of his.

A dull explosion rang through the air like thunder, so loud it even drowned out the soldiers’ roars.

That force rolled out like raging waves and wild wind. The shockwave swept across the battlefield like a storm tide, making both armies turn their eyes toward them.

Ordinary soldiers instinctively kept away from their battlefield, while champions who tried to approach were stopped by others.

Nolan freed his left hand and punched Hoarah Loux in the abdomen. Hoarah Loux’s heavy fist struck the sword blade and sent a numbing shock through Nolan’s arm as well.

Nolan seriously suspected that when this old man had taken the Tarnished shortcut to increase his strength, he had put every point into strength and endurance. Even at this age, he could still fight like this.

If his intelligence was zero, then his strength had to be over a hundred, and his vitality, endurance, and arcane were all maxed out too.

“With that form of yours, are you actually a dragon?” Hoarah Loux stared at Nolan’s dragonized form, a delighted smile spreading across his face.

“More or less.” Nolan’s lips curved slightly, and he smiled as well.

Hearing Nolan’s answer, Hoarah Loux’s smile grew even more excited.

“No wonder those Ancient Dragons and Flying Dragons follow you. Does that mean you’re the Dragonlord now? Wonderful. Not getting to fight Placidusax has always been one of my great regrets.”
