About This Title
The kingdom never taught her what to do with sunlight on wet skin.
Rapunzel found the falls on her own. No lanterns. No guards. Just stone, mist, and a pool so clear she could see every pebble under her feet. She left the dress behind. The tiny suits she brought instead were an experiment—rainbow triangles, gold string, black shine, green cutouts, purple silk that barely stayed on when she sat.
She posed because she wanted to know how it felt. Hand over her eyes like she was still searching the horizon. Chin in her palm on a rock. Hair piled high, then down her back, then dyed at the ends like the water had kissed it. Sometimes she looked over her shoulder. Sometimes she didn’t bother looking away at all.
The tower used to decide what she wore.
Out here, she decides how little of it stays on.
Rapunzel doesn’t glow to heal anyone anymore.
She just stands in the spray until the suit is soaked through, and waits to see who comes looking.
