Forgotten Adventures - Community Update - September 2026
infoAbout This Title
Lots of big and exciting news to share so let's dive into our monthly recap for September! Or you can watch the video version of the recap starring NikByNight here.
The first BIG piece of news is about massive changes coming to Patreon's monthly billing. Starting in November they will be discontinuing the Per Creation billing method. For current subscribers you should see no changes in what content you receive or how much you pay each month! However we are forced to update our pricing and tiers in November, and are bracing ourselves for possible technical issues on patreon's end when this happens. For the full break down of what is changing and what it means, go read all about it here!
The second big piece of news is we won big at the CRIT Awards! Thanks to so many of you for voting and the support from our audience and peers in the ttrpg space, we won Best Lyrical Song of the Year for the Defenders of Phandelver theme song! Big thank you to fellow patreon creator Arcane Anthems for bringing our lyrics to life. One of our players from Defenders, Mozzarelle aka Meghan Wright, won Best Villain in an Actual Play for her part as the Puppet Mistress in Fears & Fortunes, check that out here or get the Puppet Mistress token here! And finally we won Best Upcoming Twitch Channel! Congrats to the cast and crew for making this happen, and thank you again to all those who support us in making such great content!
Onto the FA Battlemaps Team, they released four incredible maps this month, starting off with: Galleon. Our biggest ship map we've released to date, with 5 levels, 3 sets of sails, and two tiers of cannons. It is a great boss battle ship for your party captaining our previously released ships, Pirate Sloop or Brig.
The next big map they released was Natural Cave - a sprawling underground map that has over 75 different customization options making it versatile for whatever kind of story you're trying to tell! Need a cave of fungal spore creatures, a dwarven mine, or a goblin camp? It can be all three and more.
Finally, to help get us closer to the pirate campaign that many of George's players and our patrons have been asking for, we released two more desert island maps to go along with the ones we released earlier this year! Desert Island 4 is a great place to find yourself after a shipwreck, with classic hidden treasure in the sand.
While Desert Map 5 is a island that is home to a massive bird's nests, and hides a secret cove of treasure below!
All of these new pirate maps are made possible thanks to our Assets Team who has been making tons of pirate and naval themed assets as of late. This month they brought us new ship assets, pirate flags, scuba gear, framed art and golden toilets (for the captains quarters we presume!)
You ever notice how some tokens and some assets blur the line between which is which? Many have asked for our Animated Armor token to be made into an asset, well we did one better and made still standing versions of them along with new design variants so you can surprise players at your next session.
The Token team was also hard at work making more Dwarven Adversaries like the Battlesmith and Battlerager (shout out to Thibbledorf Pwent!) And a slew of creepy new creatures that you may not have seen the likes of before!
That's all for this month! Expect some scary content from us as we head into October and once again thank you all for your continued support and be sure to follow us on our socials for more updates!
