About This Title
Lyes Onyxscar
The howling wind over the Shattered Pass was usually enough to mask the approach of a frost-drake, but Captain Lyes Onyxscar did not listen with her ears, she listened through her entire being, unlike the loud, iron-clad commanders of the Capital, Lyes moved like a shadow in dark indigo armor. She held no massive broadsword. Instead, she drew a slender, silver-hilted sword from her hip, a roar shattered the icy night as a sixty-foot frost-drake descended, its crystal scales reflecting the moonlight a standard blade would bend against such hide. Lyes simply closed her eyes and inhaled, she heard it: a low, resonant hum vibrating at the base of the monster's sternum, its natural frequency, Lyes struck her blade and a high-pitched, crystal-clear ping sliced through the storm and as the drake lunged, jaw wide, Lyes thrust her sword into the air, amplifying the vibration into a invisible cone of sonic force! The air rippled like water, the soundwave struck the beast's chest, matching its inner vibration instantly and a sharp, glass-shattering crack echoed through the pass as the drake's indestructible scales fractured into powder under the sonic pressure the beast stumbled, disoriented and subdued, collapsing into the ground. Personality-wise, Lyes is quietly observant, pragmatic, and remarkably soft-spoken, a sharp contrast to typical loud, boisterous knight commanders. She values precision, rhythm, and silence over brute strength. Her special ability, one that appears randomly among the family members allows Lyes to hear the frequencies of physical objects, and by striking her blade a certain manner, Lyes produces concentrated soundwaves capable of shattering enemy armor, deflecting arrows mid-air, or deafening monsters without spilling a drop of blood, of course, she doesn't leave it at that because most of the time Lyes is going up against the most formidable foe's armies.
