About This Title
I'm officially entering my detective era between this and Apothecary Diaries right now haha.But... WHAT IS GOING ON HERE
First, I'm really loving the atmosphere of this show. It had me hooked since the intro lol. It's dark, eerie, unsettling, the sound design is so crispy, and it has this constant feel that something just isn't right, you know? I feel like I need a giant bulletin board with pictures, pins, and red string bc there are so many little details that have my brain buzzing. The murder of Dora Lange is horrifying. It's also so bizarre and ritualistic that I can't stop wondering what it all means. The antlers/crown, the strange symbols, those creepy little devil nets, and now this connection to religion and the burned-down church with the drawing on the wall??? I have SO many questions.I'm already wondering about the little girl, Marie Fontenot, who went missing years ago. Something about the family's explanation and even the sheriff's explanation doesn't sit right with me. Then finding a similar devil net in her old home?? Are these cases connected somehow? Is there something even bigger than we even know going on here? Then we have Rust and Marty. WHAT A DUO lol. Rust is such a fascinating person to me already. I was so skeptical about him in the first episode but after episode 2, I am nothing but intrigued. He's incredibly observant and intelligent. But he also feels deeply troubled and pessimistic about life. After learning about his daughter and his past... I understand why he is the way he is though. Why he sees the world with such darkness. His conversations about life and humanity are so bleak, but I also find myself agreeing with it in some way and wanting to hear more of what he has to say. Matthew McConaughey is absolutely captivating in this role!Marty, on the other hand.. Ol' WOOD Harrelson.. SIR The way he presents himself as this family man while having an entire shameless affair on the side?! The hypocrisy. But his personality is also red flag city. He's possessive, arrogant, manipulative.. The contrast between him and Rust is so interesting because Rust seems so aware of how damaged he is while Marty lives in his own delusional world completely unaware of how toxic he is.I cannot WAIT to see where this goes. I think the two different timelines is very interesting. Why are they being interviewed about this case so many years later? Why are they so interested in Rust? WHAT happened between Rust and Marty?! I feel like we're watching two mysteries unfold at the same time and it's honestly genius. Thank you so much for hanging out with me for this season!I hope you're as excited as I am to dive deeper into this madness Thank you for your support on Patreon!Relax and enjoy SYNC ALONG LINK: https://youtu.be/nDgTsJXnogEI watched this on HBO Max
