About This Title

One day, as Mileena sat upon her throne, she pondered the situation: no matter how she looked at it, she needed someone to govern and maintain order within the Realm of Chaos. Most of the realm's rulers—including Havik—had fallen during the last tournament. Mileena realized that her established views on the nature of life and the universe were ineffective in the Realm of Chaos, and without control or containment, the measure of chaos steadily increased, occasionally seeping into other realities and beginning to destroy them.

So she turned to Skarlet. She wanted to know if Skarlet could resurrect the Grandmaster of the Brotherhood of Shadow, not Quan Chi, but Noob Saibot. Noob Saibot had also been killed during the clash of worlds, but the problem was that he had perished outside the dimension of Outworld, leaving his soul lost in another realm. Since assuming the role of Imperial Sorceress, Skarlet had studied the libraries of Shang Tsung and Quan Chi to master advanced dark magic; however, as is typical of cunning and treacherous individuals, they had never organized their libraries systematically nor recorded every detail. They had kept certain spells, formulas, and recipes in their own memories—memories that were lost along with them. Skarlet attempted several test resurrection rituals, but each one failed because key components of the spells and the recipes for necessary potions were missing from the books. Citing this, Skarlet explained that she could not resurrect Noob Saibot; however, using the Titan of Time's crown, she could peer into other parallel universes and dimensions to search for the Brotherhood of Shadow's Grandmaster there. Mileena approved the search, and for several weeks, Skarlet traveled through other dimensions, attempting in vain to locate Noob Saibot. At the end of the second month, her search finally met with success—though with a twist: following the spiritual signature, she emerged from the portal at the spot where the mark had last detected Noob Saibot’s presence. Yet, the trail led her to the base of a bridge on one of the versions of Shang Tsung’s Island. There, Skarlet beheld heaps of remains from fallen warriors who had plummeted from above, rivers of muck and blood mingled with putrid gore, and severed limbs and body parts dangling from the razor-sharp blades that studded the ground and the bridge’s supports...While carefully examining the remains, Skarlet stumbled upon Noob Saibot—though this was not Bi-Han, but a woman who, judging by her attire, was the local Grandmaster of the Shadow Clan. Having located her via the Noob Saibot signature, Skarlet had no doubt that this was indeed Noob Saibot herself, rather than merely a clan member. It appeared this version of Noob Saibot had been defeated in battle and cast from the bridge; her decomposing corpse lay on the ground below, impaled on blades. Her right arm and left leg had been severed—likely striking the long blades protruding from the bridge's support columns during the fall—and a blade had pierced her neck, while her head was partially split open. Skarlet sensed residual blood within the body; the excessive humidity had prevented it from clotting or drying out. Guided by the scent of the blood, Skarlet located the severed arm and leg, gathered the remains, and returned to the Imperial Palace...For several days, Skarlet studied the works of ancient sorcerers regarding the resurrection of the dead. After a week of preparation, she gathered everything necessary; placing the body in a bath filled with blood, she began chanting incantations to reanimate the flesh. Fresh blood gradually saturated Noob Saibot’s entire body, and the spells slowly began to revive and restore her tissues. Hours into the ritual, Skarlet sensed the heart gradually begin to beat and blood start circulating through the veins; over time, the blood in the bath turned pitch black, and she began to detect brain activity and muscle spasms. Eventually, Skarlet concluded the ritual and lifted the body from the bath. She saw clear progress, though there was a complication: the severe wounds from the fall remained—the body was nearly severed in two and bleeding profusely, requiring the internal organs to be stitched back together by hand. Skarlet moved the body onto a long stone table; she then placed the severed arm and leg into the bath so that, while the limbs regenerated, she could suture and heal the grave wounds on Noob Saibot’s torso...While stitching together organs and tissues, she used her power to stem the bleeding; once the body was fully restored and all incisions closed, Skarlet retrieved the severed limbs from the bath and began reattaching them... After days of painstaking work, she finally finished; following the procedures, she placed Noob Saibot’s body back into a bath of fresh blood to nourish the tissues that had been damaged or remained untreated during the operation... Exhausted, Skarlet left the body in the bath and went to rest, knowing it still required about twelve hours to recover... Yet, after eight hours, Noob Saibot unexpectedly regained consciousness and slowly pulled herself up by the rim of the tub to free himself from the blood and take a breath...As she pulled herself up with her uninjured arm, Noob Saibot splashed the blood, and Skarlet heard it dripping onto the floor even in her sleep. She quickly sprang up, went to the bath, and submerged Noob Saibot completely in the blood once more; waiting until she stopped thrashing and lost consciousness from a lack of air, Skarlet set about brewing potions to accelerate tissue repair and aid recovery. A couple of hours later, Skarlet returned to the bath, lifted Noob Saibot out, and moved her back onto the table. The young woman’s body appeared whole again, though her wounds and stitches were still bleeding slightly; Skarlet poured one of the potions over the open wounds and sutures, causing the exposed areas to instantly hiss and cauterize. The sensation snapped Noob Saibot back to consciousness, and she tried to thrash about, but her body lacked the strength to move even a limb more than ten centimeters. Skarlet tried to calm the young woman, whose mind was in a state of chaos as her brain had not yet fully recovered...Skarlet forced her mouth open and poured in several potions; Noob Saibot calmed down, and after a few minutes, signs of consciousness finally appeared in her eyes... Slowly turning her head toward Skarlet, she whispered, asking where she was and why she was alive again...Skarlet approached her and, leaning in, explained that she had found her body—already decomposing after more than a week—impaled on blades beneath a bridge on Shang Tsung's Island. She revealed that the woman was from another dimension and had been brought here on Empress Mileena's orders; Skarlet had been working on her for a couple of days, trying to bring her back to life, but because she could not yet grow an entirely new body and transfer the soul and consciousness into it, the process was proving to be long and complex...After telling her story, Skarlet asked Noob Saibot not to move; her newly reattached leg and arm—along with some of her internal organs—had not yet fully knitted together, and she wanted to sleep for a few hours while the potion took effect. She then walked toward the bed, while Noob Saibot whispered a name after her: "Vivian"—feeling that the one who had brought her back to life had the right to know her name from her former life...Skarlet turned her head toward her for a moment, then went to rest...A few hours later, Skarlet woke up and went to check on Vivian; after feeling the stitches on her leg, arm, and side, she confirmed that the potions were working and that the tissues had knit together and were healing rapidly...Skarlet woke Vivian and asked her to try to sit up and move to the edge of the table; Vivian managed to comply with the request, albeit with difficulty. Skarlet then brought her clothes—now cleaned of blood and the pus of decomposition—and told her she could sleep in the second bedroom until she had fully recovered and was presentable enough to appear before the Empress...Vivian asked why Mileena needed Noob Saibot and how the Noob Saibot from their dimension had died...Skarlet explained that their Noob Saibot had perished in Earthrealm during the collision of worlds at the time of last Mortal Kombat, having attempted to play a treacherous game. While Earthrealm's champions were away competing in the tournament, Shao Kahn's subjects had tried to destroy Earthrealm and prepare it for a merger with Outworld; however, Shao Kahn's defeat caused their entire plan to collapse instantly, leaving his followers either dead or captured. Without waiting for official ceremonies, Mileena declared herself the Emperor's heir and claimed the throne of Outworld as her own. Yet, with the deaths of both Quan Chi and Havik, the Realm of Chaos was left without an overseer to manage its expansion and relative stability; the realm began to tear apart the dimensions bordering it, and Mileena needed someone who understood the nature of chaos and could control it. When Vivian asked why not Quan Chi, Skarlet replied that the Emperor's sorcerers were far too arrogant and constantly engaged in backstabbing schemes to usurp the Emperor and seize power—in short, they were untrustworthy. Mileena required a loyal guardian of the Realm of Chaos—someone who would responsibly carry out their duties and remain steadfastly loyal to the throne... Skarlet then explained that, since Mileena had granted Vivian a new lease on life, she now held absolute authority over her—making Vivian her property. She noted that Vivian could either openly challenge the Empress to a duel or accept Mileena’s terms; in the latter case, once she had recovered, she would be expected to swear a personal oath of loyalty to Mileena and the throne of Outworld, thereby becoming the official ruler of the Chaosrealm. Skarlet added—smiling sweetly and looking away with a hint of bashfulness—that Empress always generously rewarded her loyal subjects for their devotion. When Vivian asked what kind of rewards she offered, Skarlet smiled and replied that she would find out for herself, provided she swore that oath and served faithfully...Having weighed all the recent events she had experienced, Vivian decided to remain in this realm and serve the Empress as a loyal guardian of the Realm of Chaos; in gratitude for her new life, she would serve for as long as the Empress deemed necessary... Now, all that remained was to fully recover and swear her oath to Mileena in person...But that is a completely different story... :DMeet the new Noob Saibot — Vivian WraithP.s. The costume still isn't finished—I've got the greaves left to do—but I've been working on it for a damn month+ now and wanted to show the results, so here it is :D
