Dajimess - Monthly Release? + Big Announcement
About This Title
Hi everyone! I hope you're all having a lovely day.
Sorry if I repeat myself or go off on tangents, but I'm writing this while pretty excited. XD
First, let's start with the most important news.
I want to start releasing content on a consistent schedule. I'm doing this partly because I sometimes end up slacking off, but also because it would help maintain a steady flow of visitors, and Patreon Subscribers would actually get to enjoy the benefits that come with regular releases.
So I've been thinking about it, and I'm going to give it a try.
A NEW CrPr/TSSC RELEASE EVERY MONTH!
We'll keep the same format of two weeks of early access for Patreon supporters. Public releases for each version should come out between the 5th and 10th of every month, leaving me a few extra days to fix any bugs that might come up.
The word count of new versions has been gradually decreasing. We started with big updates, like the Christmas update for Two Sides of the Same Coin, which reached around 40k words. The Two Sides of the Same Coin rework consisted of 60k words! Regular updates were around 30k words, and back then, I released one every four months... Little by little, the word count went down, and now Crimson Prison updates have been around 15k words.
When it comes to action scenes or content that requires a lot of work, like the latest version, v0.1.7.1, I wrote 9k words over two months of work. But as you can imagine, the combat scenes took up a lot of my time!
Well, this next version will be by far the shortest one yet. I'd say approximately 3.5k words and 200 CGI.
Why? It's simple.
THE AUCTION HOUSE IS REALLY CLOSE.
We've finally reached the longest and most exhausting part of Chapter Two to develop. I want to make something interesting, something that lives up to your expectations. That's why the Auction House arc will be divided into approximately 15 main events, spread across 4 or 5 updates.
You'll notice that starting this month, updates will be shorter than usual. Yes, that's intentional. This will give me time to keep developing the Auction House alongside them, rather than leaving you without any new content for... 6 or 7 months.
Once the Auction House mini-arc is complete, we'll go back to longer monthly updates. Next version 0.1.7.4 will contain 3 events while I work on implementing systems and maps, writing scripts, and creating characters for the Auction House.
I want to do this right. Since none of the maps I found felt quite right for the Auction House, I decided to purchase a 3D model and import it myself using community-made tools. For someone who's not used to working with this kind of software, it's been a bit of a headache, but trust me, the result will be amazing.
None of this would have been possible without the community tools, the creators of the 3D maps, you as players, and, of course, my Patreon and SubscribeStar supporters. Your support allows me to purchase the tools I need and improve my workspace. So I have a lot to thank you for!
I'll work hard to make this a fantastic arc for all of you!
And finally, I'm still working on improving my writing. Last week, I bought a creative writing course on Udemy that I'm sure will help me improve little by little. As you know, even though I've been writing novels for almost five years, I've never really had any formal training beyond reading itself.
Speeeeeaking of reading, I've decided to include a little nod to Pinocchio, one of the classic fairy tales I've read recently and absolutely fell in love with!
I hope you enjoy the new version when it comes out! Remember, this will be a short update because I'll be working on the Auction House updates in parallel!
With no more to say, have fun and get depressed with all of us!
