What a WILD batch of Apothecary episodes
So last week I accidentally watched Episode 11 instead of Episode 8 Crunchyroll decided to throw me into the future which is apparently a known bug that I haven't been graced with yet lol. So I'll be more mindful going forward with Crunchyroll and making sure I don't use the next episode button bc I'll never trust again hahahaANYWAY, we got so much lore into the imperial family with these episodes.. I feel like I need to make a whole visual family tree at this point just to keep everything straight. But is the family tree even correct??? Secret after secret keeps crawling out of the palace walls. The whole situation with Anshi, Ah-Duo, the previous Emperor, the possible baby swap. It's all so interesting to think about and try to piece together! I'm still very much learning toward Jinshi being Ah-Duo's biological son. Which would make him the current Emperor's SON rather than his younger brother. And if that's true, the implications for his future are HUGE. The previous Emperor and Anshi's history was honestly hard to swallow. I definitely left that episode with an upset stomach. But the genius and gentle ways this show explores people and their pasts... It's something I've always really admired and appreciated. It doesn't necessarily ask us to excuse their actions, but just gives us a better understanding of how they became the people they were. BUT LETS TALK ABOUT THE FROG EPISODE I was absolutely lost, guys. Maomao trying so hard to convince herself that what she was feeling was a somewhat large frog bc she wants absolutely NOTHING to do with Jinshi's secrets was hilarious. Meanwhile, we're finally getting some confirmation about who Jinshi is! Or at least.. Who he has been pretending to be. KA ZUIGETSU?! MOON PRINCE?? Huge. A whole royal identity hiding behind a beautiful eunuch's face. Someone is clearly willing to go to some extreme lengths to kill Jinshi, tho. And I'm really curious WHO is the one pulling all of these strings. The political side of this story keeps bubbling up and becoming more and more interesting as we learn just how much is really at stake here.I'm loving Season 2 so much. I feel like we're so close to uncovering something HUGE but even the smaller mysteries have me completely captivated.
