shinyheartbeats - HOTEL LEX - FLOOR 5 (18/?)
infoAbout This Title
You hold up your hand in a polite gesture and say you'll just look around.
You walk past the table of glowing objects and view an assortment of furniture and household accessories that very closely match apartments you've lived in. The brick detailing extends further into the back and it's lined with mid-modern couches and stools. You see houseplants hanging from the ceiling, each made of different materials like woven thread, Lego plastic, and glass. It all feels so artificial, but it makes sense. The aisles are lined with storage of all shapes and sizes, chairs from the most minimalist to the most classy, poufs with all different kinds of patterns, desk lamps for even the smallest of toys. You admire how things seemingly stretch in random proportions yet still feel cohesive in design. You walk through the showroom without much catching your eye— not that you could afford anything anyway.
You head upstairs where you find clothing and accessories. You look over at a table of technical backpacks and handbags. You wonder if storage would be a necessity in the future since you have built-in pockets at the moment. You see bottles of what you assume to be perfume and pick one up to give it a sniff. It smells of lavender and reminds you vividly of smelling oils you used to use as a kid. You pick up another one, intrigued by its name: Sharpie. You pop it open and the sharp smell hits your nose but you don't pull your head away in disgust; instead, it smells quite pleasant to your toy senses. You hand over the bottle for Emmett to smell and he looks at it confused.
"I wonder w-why that is. I g-guess we're toys now." He says, giving the bottle another sniff.
This makes you wonder if you could feel pain. To be honest, the only real sensation you've had as a plushie has been more on the pleasure side than anything else. Emmett picks up a bottle, smells it and laughs, "T-this one smells like the b-bug repellent I used to use!"
You walk over to a nearby table and look down at an assortment of glass prisms dancing in a spotlight. You pick one up and play around with the refraction along the wooden table. You peer through its interior to see a kaleidoscope of beautiful colors and shapes. You look over at Emmett and you nearly drop it in surprise. You quickly look at him again and you see two... no, three different Emmetts. You see him as he is now, him before he was turned into a plushie, and him as some kind of cyborg. All three Emmetts look over at you.
"W-what's up?" he asks curiously, walking over to you.
You show him what you found and he peers through it at you.
"W-woah!" he nearly drops the prism like you almost did. He quickly puts the glass back up to his eye to look at you. You ask him what he sees. "I-I see plushie you, y-you as the d-dragon before! A-and, and-" he squints his eyes, "I don't know what that is. You've got on a black m-ma-mask of sorts..."
You pick up another shape off the table to peer through it but nothing unusual jumps out at you.
"Is there any question over here?" You jump as the deer approaches both of you as you stand staring through pieces of glass like pirates. You quickly put the prism down on the table and tell her you're fine. She nods and shuffles along. You look at Emmett to see him still looking through the prism in wonder. You look at the price and it's about half of what you have on you.
