Curations By Kira - October Release: Articulating Cosplay Tail
infoAbout This Title
Just in time for Halloween, we're continuing our series of 3D printable cosplay accessories with our new Articulating Devil Tail!
Following last month's horn hair accessories, we wanted to create another easy way to add a little fantasy flair to your outfit without needing to build an entire costume.
This tail is fully articulated and prints in place, meaning all of the individual segments are already connected when it comes off the printer. No tedious assembly, no individual links to connect, just free up the joints and you're ready to go!
The tail features overlapping, armour-like segments that gradually taper toward a detailed pointed tip. The segmented design allows it to bend, sway, and move naturally as you walk, making it perfect for tieflings, devils, succubi, demons, dragons, and all sorts of fantasy creatures.
It's also designed to attach directly to your belt or ribbon, so you can easily add or remove it from your costume.
This release includes three printing options:Standard Devil Tail
Our full-size articulating devil tail, designed to print in place on a 250 x 250 mm build plate.
Wide Belt Devil Tail
The same articulating design with a wider belt attachment for larger or thicker belts.
220 mm Build Plate Devil Tail
A version arranged to fit standard 220 x 220 mm build plates, so more printers can join in on the cosplay fun!
What is includedYou receive:
Print-in-place articulating devil tail
Standard belt attachment version
Wide belt attachment version
Version optimized for 220 x 220 mm build plates
Pre-arranged project files for easier printing

Assembly and useOne of our favourite parts of this design is how little assembly it requires!
Print your chosen tail version in the provided orientation.
Carefully free up the articulated joints after removing it from the build plate, gently working along the tail until all segments move freely.
Slide the belt attachment over your belt and position it at the back of your costume.
The overlapping segments create a flexible tail that moves with you, while the larger belt attachment helps keep everything securely positioned.
Printing notesPrinter type: FDM
Material: PLA or PETG
Nozzle size: 0.4 mm
Layer height: around 0.2 mm
Walls: 2 to 3
Top layers: 4
Bottom layers: 3
Infill: 10 to 20 percent gyroid, or your preferred pattern
Build plate: 250 x 250 mm or 220 x 220 mm, depending on the version
Supports: None!
Print in the provided orientation and avoid adding supports inside the articulating joints, as these could interfere with movement.
After printing, gently work the joints loose rather than forcing the tail to bend sharply all at once.
PETG may be a good choice for extra durability, particularly if you plan to wear the tail frequently at conventions or events.
Tier access and usageDrake tier: Receives the Articulating Devil Tail for personal use as part of this month's pack.
Ancient Dragon tier: Receives the same files plus the right to sell physical 3D prints under the merchant license terms in our Patreon introduction post.
STL resale or sharing is not permitted. Credit to Curations By Kira is required when selling physical prints, and merchants must have an active Ancient Dragon subscription.
We would love to see what costumes you create with these! Between last month's horns and this month's tail, we're getting dangerously close to assembling an entire tiefling cosplay one accessory at a time.
Happy spooky season!
