About This Title

Thrisana Amalia

The Thousand Arms

Thrisana Amalia, best known as the Thousand Arms, is celebrated as a hero of both the First and Second Chaos Insurgencies. She is the last surviving Vessel Knight, an ancient order devoted to Tahravara, the Winged Mother and goddess of law and order. Commonly called the Knights of Taboo, these warriors wielded extraordinary power through sacred oaths that imposed restrictions upon themselves, with greater sacrifices granting greater power. Most perished during the First Chaos Insurgency, while their remaining descendants fell to the Chaos-Touched during the Second. Thrisana alone endured, having once held the Rah'eh Divan Pass against the advancing forces of Chaos and slain three archfiends who led them.

Known also as the Blade Queen, the Iron Maiden, and the Immortal Blade, Thrisana bears hundreds of Sword Sheath tattoos across her body. This ancient runic art allows weapons to be stored as markings upon the skin, each serving as a piece of armor while retaining its original weight. During her defense of Rah'eh Divan, Thrisana swore countless oaths, some permanent, to overcome the overwhelming enemy forces. Their power granted her seemingly impossible feats and halted her aging, allowing her to live for centuries. Yet the price was equally severe. Among her countless restrictions, she has forfeited several of her senses, lost the capacity to feel certain emotions, and remains forbidden from leaving the valley where she made her stand. These are but a few of the sacrifices she has made, many of which remain unknown.

In recognition of her sacrifice, the surrounding kingdoms agreed to relinquish their claims to the valley, despite their long history of territorial conflict. The land became known as Shamsirzan, the Forest of Blades, its boundaries marked by a line of red stones that none may cross without the Blade Queen's invitation. There, Thrisana remains to this day, bound by her own oaths and revered as one of Aethsir's mightiest mortals.

Vestigial Vow

Thrisana was an NPC I made in my first Aethsir campaign, years ago. Back then, her setup was mostly the same as her current lore, and I'm using her to relay information regarding the BBEG that the party is currently facing and to be a brief mentor for the barbarian and fighter player so that I can give them some special feats, and by the end of their encounter with her, they're each given a powerful weapon as a parting gift.

I remember the scene with her most when the party first arrived at Shamsirzan. They're chased by Azalis military, and when they cross the red line, the general just commands the soldiers to stop and turn around, even though their target is like 20 feet in front of them, as it has been passed down from generation to generation that no army may cross the red line of the Forest of Blades.
