context by himself:

All it took was the offer of information on Asmoday by Tsaritsa Anastasya to get them hooked. The Ruler of Space has been missing for quite some time now and the remaining Shades of the Heavenly Principles, though they wouldn’t outwardly show it, were desperate for any new leads.

But it felt too…convenient. The Cryo Archon dropping this revelation around the same time when Ronova’s curse inexplicably stopped working. And she would only provide the details of what she knew over a private tea party at her palace. It was probably a trap, but the remaining Shades had nothing to fear, sure the Tsaritsa had six out of the seven gnoses but that still wouldn’t be enough to defeat any of them.

Their arrogance and overconfidence was exactly what their adversary counted on as the Shades drank the tea without even considering the notion that there might have been a ‘special’ ingredient just for them. Good new: they found Asmoday. Bad news: they all woke up barefoot in stocks specifically designed to constrain them and the use of their powers.

Rhinedottir, recognizing her predicament, warned the others of impending tickling as confirmed by the Tsaritsa. Before they started, the Cryo Archon recounted the story of one of her subordinates known as The Jester and how he had discovered the price of gazing upon the gods of Celestia. He also contemplated the price of killing a god. But today the Tsaritsa had her own question for the now-helpless Shades: What was the price of tickling a god?
