About This Title
As many of you may know, Easy Anti-Cheat has just been added as Helldivers 2's new Anti-Cheat!I’ve personally wanted this change for a while, and it pushes HDSE toward a setup I believe will serve us better in the long run.
HDSE will fall back to game build 25480438 as the central modding build.All mods made for HDSE will be for this build, and all clients are expected to be running it.This maintains a common, consistent version, so mods behave the same way for every player.This is a long-term upgrade, not a compromise.
HDSE can automatically install this build via Steam, and it will Include Steam DRM protections while still contributing to Steam's "player count" of the game.This migration opens up a LOT of doors for us, though it also means I need to spend more time getting everything ready, so thank you all for your patience.
With that I'm excited to announce that HDSE will launch with full multiplayer support!You will have the ability to host your own interactive galactic war and play it with friends!!Gameplay connections will be routed through HDSE's servers so direct IPs are not exposed.As the host, you are in full control of the galactic war.You decide the planets, liberation rates, mods, and who gets to join your server.The heavy lifting is handled for you. When someone joins your GW, the launcher will compare their enabled mods against yours and flag anything missing or out of date, so nobody ends up in a broken session.
NOTE: Mods must be made network-compatible on an individual basis; a mod's network compatibility is shown directly within HDSE.
All of HDSE's Official Mods will be fully multiplayer-compatible.Thank you all for sticking with HDSE through this transition, and as always thank you so much to the supporters who keep this project alive.I can't wait to see what you create together!
