Ilja Jusupov aka x4fab - The final 0.3.0 preview, public release in two days
About This Title
Thanks to all of your reports, it seems like most of the crashes and major issues are solved now! So, I believe this should be the last preview before 0.3 goes public. And, of course, 0.3.1 with more fixes will be coming soon, but I believe this one is stable enough for the public update.
Besides all the fixes, there are some additions too. First, in this update, metallic car paints finally got some proper flakes! The configs might need updating though; we’re working on the Kunos ones right now. For now, you can see them in action with the Kunos Audi S1.
Track flags also got some improved animation. Unlike previously, this one is driven by physics (well, a pretty simple cloth simulation), taking into account wind speed, direction and scene wetness. To keep things stable, they’re disabled by default for now, but you can enable them in the Track/Misc section.
Also, smoke particles now have a new spawn logic. It’s optional as well, and disabled by default, but you can give it a try by enabling it in the Graphics/Particles FX section.
And if you’re writing scripts, you might be excited to know that Lua in CSP now includes the latest syntax extensions! I also took the opportunity to tweak the interpreter a bit further: now, if you’re using arrow syntax for functions that don’t capture any locals, they’ll be reused instead of being constantly recreated, so you can write things like “table.sum(rows, |a| -> a.value)” without losing performance. For more details, check out “lua-sdk/readme.txt”. Oh, and the VS Code CSP extension has been updated as well, so that awesome Lua extension would understand the new syntax features.
Here is the full list of changes, and here is the new build. Please give it a try, and, please, feel free to DM me if you’re experiencing any issues or have any questions. Thank you for all the incredible support!
