Vinnie - Thorns on a Rose - Shadamytober : first aid

Heya guys! We have a mini comic today!

This one is kinda sweet - kinda angsty, I guess? The begining of a crush is never easy...

I always liked the canon that Amy is the only character he doesn't mind the touch of. My guess is that, seeing as Shadow is such a good judge of character (he clocks people's intentions right away, Rouge and Sonic might have been the exceptions at first in SA2), he doesn't mind her touch because... she simply doesn't activate any alarm bells in him. Ian Flynn said that "he trusts Amy" and, well, he has good reasons to. She is the closest the canon has to a true hero (I love you Sonic, but you actually don't help everyone in canon, in fact Amy has to remind you to help, and you run away as soon as it stops being fun when there is still stuff to be done lol) , always thinking about the right thing to do for everyone and being utterely selfess. And she is straightforward too and just so nice. He knows whatever she does or says, it will be without bad attention; and as someone who has been manipulated left and right, people asking him to be what he isn't, and him geniunely struggling to do the right thing sometimes, someone like Amy is as welcome as it gets.

Which is why I think that at first he wouldn't mind her touch because, well, he thinks nothing of it, he might even like it. So why not? But as soon as he starts craving it, as soon as his heart starts wanting something, that's when he pulls away from her. That's where the danger lies with her, he realizes. She is too damned likeable! And damnit, he doesn't want the distraction, loving is never a good idea, not for him anyway and doesn't deserve it, he thinks.

That will be a surprise for Amy, who might not even realize she likes him too, seeing as she is touchy with everyone.

Amy: "He never pulls away"

Shadow: * process to pull away for the first time *

Hope you don't mind a slow burn, Amy! It's okay, you're in denial too so it should be right at your pace in that case lol

So, yeah... tell me if you like the idea. What are your headcanons around that subject?

I was this close to not doing anything for that theme because I was not inspired to do a simple drawing... but I wanted to make something anyway because imagining her caring for him is too cute, so I commited to make a mini comic to convey my idea.

See you tomorrow for the smutty smut smut hehe. Don't know if I'll have the time to clean my sketch for the next shadamytober theme... it for "swarm" and I made them surrounded by babies lol but that's a lot of characters to draw... it might be for Saturday!

I also have a cold and I must admit I'm pretty affected by the news of Bioware studio closing - I guess it's one final nail in the coffin of seeing coworkers and gamedevs I admire loosing their jobs yet again and seeing my own career prospects dwindling... so I'm drawing at a snail pace... BUT drawing has now become an open act of rebellion and it fuels me! So I'm extra extra grateful for you all to give me the time to draw!!
