Hey friends,
I've started working on prepping chapter 1 for print! Here is the new cover (with the old cover for comparison) and the breakdown of what needs to be done and what will change.Bad news - it's looking like the chapter will likely need a significant amount of work and will probably not be ready to go by the end of the year. I'm hoping I don't have to redraw the whole chapter at a higher resolution. Parts of it will get redrawn partially and cleaned up. I may have to adjust the colors somewhat as well to keep them as vibrant in print (as I can!) as the comic is digitally.
Good news - I've been wanting to clean up chapter 1 for a while to update it, so it'll be good to have an early chapter that I'm more proud of. I really like how the cover is looking with the adjusted colors and improved art.
I'm going to have a proof printed to see how it looks before making more major adjustments and go from there. The manga size is the closest to the current dimensions of the pages, and will be 5.5" x 7.75" (13.75 cm x 19.375 cm) in print. I'll share photos of the proof when I have it in hand.
In total, this issue will be 28 pages - 22 for the chapter and dream sequence, and some bonus content. I'm going to include a couple pin-ups at the back of this issue, along with some sketches of the very first pictures of Alex and Kaz.
