Well here it is be-atches! The long awaited October Newsletter (well two weeks anyway, and only by 2 or 3 of you, but I’m going to do it anyway because I love the sound of my own voice…well not really my voice, more like the voi..fuck it, I’ll just get on with it!)
FIRST THE BORING STUFF
We set the bar waaaaaay too fucking high this month when we released “Blacking Out and Getting Tattoos” on October the 1st, and jagging 3 time as many views as the next best, which was “Winning a Golden Ticket 2026”. In other good news, the podcast is starting to gain some traction and getting more listens, so thanks to you guys and gals for supporting that so well.
EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH (Idea shamelessly stolen from James Rittmeyer)
I was going to make a dodgy little trophy for this, but James suggested I make it a pointless award, so I’m going with that. This month our Employee of the Month is Scooby. Scoob brings the chill to CrackerMilk that is so sorely needed at times. Rising above the bullshit that can present itself every now and then (Elias), and dealing with the mayhem that the other three dogs create when they get the zooms, Scooby is a beacon of serenity. Well done Scoob, you’re a fucking legend!
SO WHATS BEEN HAPPENING
I told you all last time that Connor and Jackie went to Melbourne for a week to schmooze with some industry bigwigs and look at fucking dinosaurs, while I went to Dallas/Fort Worth for a few days just for shits an gigs. Connor and Jackie had a great time, and overall the whole trip was pretty successful. They’ve come back with some great ideas and a better understanding of what type of long form stuff we should be working on, and we’ve spent the last week doing just that. We’ve also been trying to structure our time better, making space for more pre and post production stuff.
That’s enough of the boring shit, let me tell ya’ll about Texas. It was fucking awesome! I went to a Cowboys game, checked out where JFK forgot to duck, and got into the Texas BBQ at Billy Bob’s, which was the biggest bar I’ve ever seen. We also got on the turps at Texas Live, which has to be the best sports bar on the planet, and Louie Louie’s Dueling Piano Bar in Dallas’s Deep Ellum, which was an awesome night out (and had the best urinal decoration ever – check out the pic). Anyway, Texas was brilliant!
WHATS HAPPENING NEXT
Like I said, we’re trying a new schedule, which we think will mean more time to spend on our ideas and hopefully you’ll be able to see that on screen soon. Basically we’re just giving Jackie a realistic amount of time to source props and shit, rather than making her try and pull something out of thin air on the day, or forcing Goob to make something in his brand new workshop in 15 minutes. So far we all think it’s working well, it just feels kinda weird being organised for a change. Also, Goob and I have now both watched Halloween and are filming our reaction and thoughts for the movie club, all we need now is a theme for the next one for this month, so if you have any suggestions, throw them up here or in the movie club chat group.
