The Hill Before The Valley:

Progress might seem pretty meager this month, but in reality I have put in more hours on average this month than any other this year. Even with classes, homework, and work, I have been GRINDING these scenes.

Obviously what you are getting to see, is that these later scenes are absolute MONSTERS. This month and the next month and possibly the next are just simply the BIG ONES to render and it's going to be rough before I get to the chill wrap up final ones.

One of my biggest hurdles this month was just technical issues. VRAM dumps, crashes, texture fights, and just me figuring out how to fix things multiple times whenever the scenes moved. It was really frustrating at times, but I'm happy I'm slowly learning how to stay calm and figure things out as the breakthrough is always around the corner.

Testing The Limits:

Scenes like this one, are... both painful and breathtaking. My goal in this chapter was not only to tell a story, but to really test the limits of my skills and DAZ's performance. Obviously my machine isn't the strongest, but I'm pretty proud of what I can do on the backend to make such giant scenes come together.

The results, stellar. The process, hell. This scene for example takes on average of 15 minutes just to load everything. And you can imagine just how difficult it is to navigate the scene and make adjustments on absolutely everything.

Layered materials, stacked shaders, 7 figures/models, volumetric smoke, fog, and fire... BLOOD! All many layers of a seriously F&@KING awesome looking cake, but man is it hard to work with.

This scene in particular was helpful. I've found the sort of threshold for the limits of DAZ in one scene, at least for my current setup. I learned much about how to adjust things, save resources where I can, and how to put everything correctly together in post.

It was tough, but I'm proud of it.

Halloween Render Is Coming:

Obviously my pipeline was pushed back a bit with the issues I had so I sadly missed the Halloween mark, but hey... better late then never, and as someone who was actually BORN on Halloween, I celebrate it year round.

(Also yes, perhaps a friend threw me a party and perhaps I had a few too many drinks and well... the spins don't make it easy to work on art LOL!)

Love you all and hope your ravens bring you good tidings this month! Stay strange and join the Discord if you haven't yet!

Cheers,Coffee!
