About This Title
Character: Caleb
Teaser: Coffee all over his sweatpants, midnight at the laundromat, and the only things left on him are a grey henley and a pair of white briefs. The pants are in the wash, the machines take forty minutes, and the big front window faces the street. He just has to sit tight, keep the hem down,. Then a shadow passes the glass, the room gets hot, and the briefs start to darken on their own. He keeps his face perfectly calm while it spreads. The stain doesn't stop at the cotton.
What happens: a spilled coffee · everything into the wash · a damp spot he can't explain · a shadow past the window · the stain spreading, a thin line down his thigh · a hot room · and one long second at the dryer he can't hide · the face that gives away nothing except the flush
After the spin cycle: locked in the restroom, shirt off, jeans dragged halfway down, looking at what's left of his briefs · a hand on his own chest while the rest finishes on its own · leaning back against the cold tile until his legs stop shaking · warm laundry hugged close · and walking out like nothing happened
