digitalfoundry - Coming This Week to Digital Foundry (Week 44 2026)

More from digitalfoundry digitalfoundry - The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time - Switch 2 DF Tech Review

About This Title

Oh, hi! I've just spent the day doing back-to-back meetings. Fun! And someone from Facebook Marketplace came to my house to buy the LG B6 I bought waaaaayyyy back in 2016 alongside the PlayStation 4 Professional. It may be HDMI 2.0, but man, the picture's still awesome - as good as the day I bought it. It's been lurking in various corners of the house doing not much since 2021 but it's gone now to a good home.

The meetings? Well, one of them was the weekly editorial meeting of course and here's what we've got cooking right now.

Oliver will be handling our review of Stellar Blade on the Nintendo Switch 2 - complete with optional frame generation! Beyond that, well, DF Direct and the Q+A show.

Tom has moved on to the PlayStation and Xbox versions of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, which we're aiming to get wrapped up in short order, and will be moving onto the Metro 2033 and Last Light current-gen remasters. And I guess since he's still got my 5090, maybe a look at PC with DLSS 5.

As mentioned last week, John will be handling our DF tech review of the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake. We're also moving forward with "buffering" a new DF Retro Super Show which we will be deploying to Retro Tier Supporters ahead of time. It was always the plan, but getting the episodes out has proven challenging. This year has proven challenging but it's the start of a DF Retro revamp!

Rich (ie me) still has a lot going on in the background, so don't expect any #content from me for a while. However, I did have a thought. This week, it's the 20th anniversary of Nvidia's G80 architecture, which kicked off with the legendary 8800 GTX and the 8800 GTS. I'm sure Nvidia has celebrations of its own, but Windows XP and Vista are compatible with our frame capture based benchmarking workflow. We don't use that for GPU reviews now, but I'd love to find the time to bring the same level of performance analysis to a 20-year-old GPU as we can on a modern product. I've got a feeling there'd be plenty of surprises.

Will has something special lined up for you later this week, hopefully, and I've just peeped at some verrrrry interesting and exclusive #content he's currently working on for digitalfoundry.net.

After a short break, Rayan has completed our SCSKiller analysis and included some bonus testing on the Ishimura patch for Dead Space Remake. We're trying to find a slot for it in a very busy week but expect some early access on higher supporter tiers (something we're looking to get back on track).

In fact, why not share a screenshot of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth running after its shader precompilation step - but still with "egregious" stutter - and the SCSKiller run...

I think that's all for now, but please feel free to suggest new topics, games you'd like to see covered, PC-specific stuff for Rayan to look at or ask some questions about the above! Hope you all have a great week!
