About This Title
The anniversary photograph swaps Nora and me while we are arguing over who should visit her father. I wake in my wife's body, wearing her cream blouse and carrying the ache she never mentions in her left hip. Nora wakes as Mark and immediately discovers why I avoid mirrors. We have one day before the photograph resets, and her father is waiting for lunch. His dementia has made names unreliable, but Nora insists he will recognize his daughter. At his kitchen counter, I hold her chipped blue mug exactly as she does and repeat the joke she tells every Sunday.
