About This Title
I have always romanticized the city of Chengdu because of the Chinese folksong of the same name (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-pfjpuy7nx0 if you want a listen!) But the last time I visited in 2025, Chengdu was nothing like the gloomy and melancholic small town described in the lyrics.
But this time, with cloudy skies and drizzling rain almost everyday, and visiting some less beaten paths, for the very first time I not only understood, but felt the sense of longing sang in this song. I REALLY wanted to film a music-video-style vlog with this song as the background, in the genre of "the love of my life died and I will never forget her" kinda vibe. But I am too not artistic to pull that off... So, here are some nice photos I took while in Chengdu!
So come and have a walk with me on streets of Chengdu
We'll walk on till the lights are out and walk it through
I will hold you close, every step we’ll make it slow
And then we will take a break in a little pub down by that road
