pheronoa - EFP: Mini Cult ver.0.4.0

More from pheronoa pheronoa - Escape from Paradise: Mini Cult ver.0.3.6

About This Title

Emergency update for bug fixes and optimization! I know many of you couldn't play ver. 0.3.6. I've optimized all the doors, reviewed the events, and also added NPCs as decorations.

How to play:

Move: WASD

Decide: Space key or Left click

Cancel/Menu: Shift key or Right click

Fullscreen toggle: F4

No specific objectives have been set yet. You can hide yourself by interacting with torture devices to get bound. However, hiding while being pursued will result in a Game Over.

If the enemy catches you, they will kiss you, severely obscuring your vision. The lipstick marks will block your view and will not fade away.

When caught by an enemy, you can escape by moving your mouse cursor in a large circular motion on the window. Shaking it vigorously might also work.

During the Game Over animation, you can change your camera perspective by left-clicking. Hold right-click to return to the title screen.

Changelog / Updates:

Optimized the game for better performance and reduced memory usage.

Improved door collisions:

This had the most significant impact on reducing memory consumption, as they were previously taking up the bulk of it.

Simulated Far Clip:

Since RPG Developer Bakin doesn't natively support Far Clip, I coded a custom workaround to implement it.

Removed event collisions:

Cleared out unnecessary event collisions to further lighten the load.

Optimized assets:

Reduced the polygon count of 3D models and optimized textures.

Resolution testing:

I tried lowering the resolution to 480x270, but surprisingly, memory usage increased, so I kept it at the original 1280x720.

Post-processing:

Removed some of the post-processing effects.

Added cult believer as room decorations.

Results:
Memory usage dropped significantly from 2,569–2,639 MB in the previous build to 1,920–2,043 MB! (RPG Developer Bakin uses around 1,725 MB just rendering a single object). This means I successfully shaved off about 600 MB of memory usage! (Please note that these numbers are based on my local testing environment and may vary slightly.)

I hope I can turn all your PC screens bright red with lipstick this time!

The next update is scheduled for later this month. And BIG Thank you guys for the supports and hope you having a great day.
