About This Title

Hey, everyone. Wanted to share an update.

We did everything we could on our end to manipulate the universe into bringing Omegle back in a healthy way and saving us all from the degeneracy. Unfortunately, against all odds, the degeneracy prevailed.

When the original website was auctioned, OmeTV lost their apps, leaving our future hanging in the balance. The IP ended up in Chinese hands for pennies. This is what it looks like now.

This inconvenience puts us, as a custom Omegle client that's spent years waiting for the second coming, in a very difficult position. Dont blame Ome too much for finishing Omegle, it's just way out of their league, and they're a bit distracted. Losing Apple isnt good for anyone, either. YT and twitch are there so the hive should survive.

It's time to accept reality: reinforcements aren't coming, and we need to turn to partisan activity as the last line of defense. We'll keep supporting random video chat culture from the client side, but we can't sustain taking humiliation from every direction at our expense.

Won't bore you with the details, but Google and Microsoft fucked us much harder than OmeTV fucked itself. Not intentionally, but fuck them all.

We're on our own now, that way there is only one side to blame.

Switching to this bs full-time in an attempt to revive the Omegle client. We can keep the grind going for several months to see if its fun or not. It doesnt really make sense, but the FOMO is too hard to ignore. If you want to support it, you know what to do. We owe it to you to at least try. Much of it was done a long time ago, just need to port things and commit to maintenance (basically every week ~10 hours just to keep this thing working as it is) as a bare minimum.

We will shitpost here often. Will release a bunch of stuff, even if it doesn't work, and get people onto Discord so we can build a community around our client as it takes shape. It's really hard to iterate forward without any kind of fast feedback. We just need to point the scene into the right direction to get things moving.

We also need to pull out of the Yuktobanian region entirely. We are preemptively blocking all post-Soviet countries and the Russian-speaking users for the time being. The Osean degenerate lost the midterms over Sotoa, likely prolonging the war in ome's homeland even further. Even texas is a blue state now. We can't wait a few more years as Google nerfed our Chrome listing into oblivion (their ALGORITHM changes fucked us REALLY bad, we no longer can play robin hood) and help is clearly not coming, but we'll do what we can to avoid the fun. We dont want to get anyone dragged into some secret prison or whatever the fuck is going on over there. It's just not worth it.

We basically lost three years for nothing, but we still think it was worth trying. On paper, every action taken to defend that thing's relevance was right and calculated. We wasted our mana acting in everyone's best interests but our own. Who could possibly have known that Ome would want Omegle's place so bad just to ignore regulators? xD

Now we're doing what we should have done back then. We still have no interest in running a server ourselves unless it becomes absolutely necessary. We might try creating a live-streaming, event-centric server, since any creators using our software are likely to be harassed by clones. Replacing youtube with twitch would be great for our cause. Joining the clone wars isn't really our thing, and competing with Google is a waste of time. We have Chrome to compete with already.

We predict that 2027 or 2028 will mark the end of clearnet Omegle clones and the beginning of our reign. We have no interest in accelerating that process, but if it dies, it dies. There's absolutely no communication, and nobody takes us seriously. We don't think people understand that we are technically omegle and are just very polite by nature...

We can still launch a legitimate Chromium-based client within two days of any given moment, but we can't trust those servers to remain available or even care about their reputation, so just can't. Its too much pressure to handle. Trust issues are real. We'll do it the smart way.

Project wakawaka is a real thing... We do have to cut many corners cause ome REALLY managed to fuck up the og somehow. Anyway, stay tuned.
