kaliwali - Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba The Movie: Infinity Castle (Part 1) | Unedited Reaction
infoAbout This Title
Where to even BEGIN with this movie.. OMG
I came into this expecting incredible animation, unforgettable fights, pain, epic music.. And I got ALL of that. But what I wasn't expecting was for my favorite part of the movie to be... a demon. That feels almost wrong to admit.Because Akaza took Rengoku away from us. I've rewatched Mugen Train a total of 4 times now and every single time I still feel that anger boil up. I still wish things went differently. But with each rewatch, I also found myself respecting him more. There's something fascinating about the way he fights. He doesn't belittle his opponents. He admires them, truly. He pushed Rengoku to his absolute limit. He set his heart ablaze. It never felt like empty trash talk just for the heck of it. He genuinely wanted Rengoku to become stronger because, in his mind, strength was the highest form of respect.I always wondered why he hated weakness so much. And now we know...And I won't ever look at him the same way again. His past broke me. I sobbed through most of it, honestly. Watching everything he loved get ripped away, seeing how grief twisted into rage, and then hearing him admit who the real person he wanted to kill was.... himself. I was a mess. That line struck me so hard because it exposed the truth under his obsession. He was only running from himself this whole time. From his guilt. From the version of himself he couldn't forgive. In the end, I wasn't looking at Upper Rank Three anymore. I wasn't looking at Rengoku's murderer either.I was looking at Hakuji. In the end, he chooses peace. He says NO to Muzan.Does that erase everything he has done? No. Not even close. But redemption isn't the same thing as erasing your sins. And I think in the end, he did redeem himself.Outside of his story, this movie was just incredible. The Infinity Castle itself felt alive, twisting and folding into itself in ways that made everything feel so unpredictable. There were moments I actually forgot to breathe because I didn't know what would be lurking around the corner. And the music... YES It does SO much without ever overpowering the moment. And it quietly slips into your heart until you're too overwhelmed to know why. Finally watching and finishing Part 1 of Infinity Castle, I feel a really bittersweet excitement.I need to see Part 2 immediately but now I'm in the same boat as you guys! Waiting.. Aching for more Demon Slayer!!I love how much Demon Slayer has never really been just about defeating demons. It's always telling us that humanity survives, even after everything else has been lost. And somehow, in this movie, the character who reminded me of that message the most wasn't even a Demon Slayer at all.I LOVE DEMON SLAYERI can't believe we have to wait another year until Part 2... But I'll see you all then & in the meantime, I'll be rewatching this one immediately Thank you for your support on Patreon!Relax and enjoy WANT TO WATCH IN DUB?SYNC ALONG LINK: https://youtu.be/Rfo26cSiU7UI watched this on Crunchyroll
