AMAZE AMAZE AMAZEI'M SO GLAD I FINALLY WATCHED THIS!!!
This movie was beautiful in every way. It made me feel so incredibly small, ponder the 'what if's' way too hard, and gave me hope that maybe one day space exploration like this could be possible for us. But... maybe without astrophage eating away at solar systems lol.It was one of those stories that reminded me how vast the universe really is.But it didn't make it feel all dark and scary and lonely.Instead it felt.. surprisingly comforting.Which I absolutely LOVED.Every new discovery had me listening harder, leaning closer, wanting to know more. The science never felt like it was trying to prove how smart it was either. It felt like an invitation for us to be a part of the process. Every problem was a puzzle. Every solution felt earned. I love stories that make intelligence feel exciting instead of intimidating, and this movie was that.And Rocky... I wasn't prepared for this hilariously sweet alien.His funny phrases were EVERYTHING. His desire to stay close by no matter what..Rocky completely stole my heart.I also have to give Ryan Gosling so much praise because WOW. He absolutely carried this movie. He made complicated science feel natural. Loneliness feel believable. Every single emotion GENUINE. He was unapologetically himself from beginning to end. And whoever was in charge of his costume and overall character design deserves a standing ovation.Watching two beings from completely different worlds slowly learn each other's language, habits, way of thinking.. that was the real magic of this movie for me. The both chose to understand someone completely different from themselves and work together to save their worlds. That feels so simple.. but this movie made it feel like the most beautiful and rewarding part of the whole journey.And you guys know me and music.An amaze soundtrack = An amaze movieI'll be saving this one to my spotify playlist for sure This movie reminded me why I love science fiction so much in the first place.The best sci-fi has never really been about spaceships and beep boops.It's about people. Curiosity. Sacrifice. Hope.
