münecat - Reacting to a Diary of a CEO Episode + Project Update!

OK, the Miro board walk-through on this one is going to be the wildest one yet! (See screenshot)...

When I got hold of all of the court transcripts, safe to say it changed the scope of the project…

But tbh it is absolutely fascinating to me because it’s sort of like projects I’ve done in the past, I’ve always been interested in conspiracy theories, pseudoscience, psychology, etc - except this one a small, bounded system in which I have access to all the information I need to be able to map out exactly what happened - epistemically, psychologically... I think what I’ve learnt from my work in the past is that we need to think more about where information comes from, but we also need to be more aware of how we absorb it. We need to think about thinking more.

So this is more than just one court case - it’s about how information is managed from the top-town, and exactly how powerful institutional incentives and processes can warp information, or create “the truth”… but I can use this case to be extremely granular - the transcripts, the public inquiry, the commentary, the media portrayal… I can map out exactly how blame ends up on the “little guy” at the bottom.

As soon as I have more of the Blender project done, I will do a video update showing you that, as it’s more visual than just endless notes!

In the meantime - I’ve been thinking a lot about how badly science is communicated to the layman public, and it’s something I’m getting more and more passionate about...

I actually plan on doing a proper take-down of Diary of a CEO one day… DOAC needs its own proper project dedicated to it. But here’s a taster of my thoughts on it. Ol’ Stevie Bartlett needs taking down a peg or two. And I’m thinking about the best ways to do it. And the current project is helping me think through how to do that.
