A very worn down Dillon here.
Where things stand:
We have regained control of our social accounts as well as paid platforms like Backerkit, Kickstarter, Patreon, and banking. Our X account is currently regained but maintains potential back door access to the bad agent at this time. We are working to get this resolved.
We have been unable to regain control of our Discord or email accounts and are actively working on this. [email protected] and [email protected] remain compromised. And we are unsure if they will ever be reclaimed.
[email protected], [email protected] and [email protected] are secured accounts.
The Release
The release was ready several days before the 3rd but out of an abundance of caution, we have not released the drive to backers as we are having every file of the massive backlog checked for any form of malicious code.
In addition, drive links for the backlog are down while we confirm if any of the files were compromised or not.
This is likely to take us into the week of 9/21, as the IT vendor is copying every file bit by bit and scanning/saving it for evidence in the ongoing FBI police investigation as well as removing any suspicious code or file to ensure everything is safe to deliver.
As of now, it looks like the bad actor did not touch anything in the drive, and simply attacked passwords on my personal and business accounts, but we are trying to be as cautious as possible.
To get you the new content for this month, and as a thank you, we are distributing the confirmed safe and untouched September release to all backers. It's not the entire backlog, but it's the new stuff at the very least :)
