Taitset - September channel update
infoAbout This Title
Hi everyone, so quite a few exciting things going on behind the scenes.. as very strongly hinted at in the previous post, I was in New Zealand last week! I was in Auckland for a few days for the City Rail Link opening, also went and saw some trams at the Dockline and MOTAT, and then spent a few days down in Wellington. My general plan is to make two videos about the CRL: the first will be a general overview of the significance of the project and the history of why it was needed, and how it fits in to the existing network. For those not familiar with Auckland, this is basically their City Loop moment, rather than their Metro Tunnel moment. The second video will be looking at the stations and junctions etc in more detail (similar format to my 'hottest takes' metro tunnel video), also probably looking at some broader Auckland observations in general, and looking at a few lessons for Melbourne. The shot I've attached to this post is just a fun one showing three trains in short succession at Te Waihorotiu (kind of the.. Town Hall of the project?) early on the second day of operation.I don't plan on making a specific video from the Wellington side-quest (though there may be at least one, later), that part of the trip was more to do with our (Alexander Jamieson and my) ongoing long term mission of documenting the Wellington suburban network through still photography. We had a really great time there though, absolutely love that place.
Having said all that, the Auckland videos will have to wait a few weeks, becuase I have the Accessibility video finally on the editing table, and that will come out first. Classic example of a video where the scope just kept getting bigger, and it's going to be somewhere around the 50 minute mark. Will be really nice to have this finally done. I'm also going camping for a week fairly soon, so it'll be into October before any of these videos get finished. Thanks everyone!~Martin
